Dr Shirley did my gall bladder surgery about 13 yrs ago. Was no problems. He did Emergency surgery on my husband a year later. Dr Shirley saved my husband's life. Was a difficult procedure. Dr Shirley was very knowledgeable & I appreciate him & the staff who cared for us.

Worst surgeon on the face of planet earth. Doesn’t do anything he saying he’s going to do. Lies constantly and is extremely condescending. I can’t believe they’d give someone like this a medical license. He sexually harassed my wife and refused to come check on me after surgery. He even changed my treatment plan and medications without checking on how my recovery was going. I will be filing a complaint with the medical board and the attorney general or Texas for negligence and sexual harassment. If they assign you this surgeon immediately run in the opposite direction, I wish I would have while I had the chance.

It's been a year since my surgery with Dr. Robert Shirley. I waited this long to post this review because I wanted to give the surgical spot a fair chance to heal right (I have been told wound scars can take about a year to heal to its permanent look). 3 things describe my experience with Dr Shirley: 1. Bait and switch 2. Bad Stitches and Wound Dressing, 3.The misinformation I definitely will not be recommending Dr. Robert Shirley of Southwest Surgical Center to anyone. He needs to go back to medical school. If you are black - run! All these doctors care about is your money and insurance payment. The moment things go awry like giving you an avoidable scar, their default answer is “Oh…black people tend to get keloids.” Well Dr Shirley, this is not my first surgery, I don’t get keloids. I came in to remove a lipoma that was getting very visible and you have left me with a scar that is even more conspicuous than the lipoma you removed. If there was a 0 star that is what I would assign.

Dr Shirley did surgery on my 85 year old father. Very efficient, no infection, great office staff . Would definitely recommend him.

Dr Shirley took care of our 91yr old mother with care and compassion. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Robert M. Shirley is assisted by a highly competent nurse named Annabelle. She makes a patient feel comfortable as she collects information that the doctor will need during the examination. This nurse enabled me to see Dr. Shirley in a timely manner. This enabled me to cancel my hotel reservation since I would not need to return the following day. Annabelle truly cared about me as a person- my physical and financial needs. Dr. Shirley patiently explained my diagnosis and my prescriptions. He listened and answered my questions thoroughly. Dr. Shirley has surrounded himself with a competent caring staff. I greatly appreciate the care that I was given!

Had my gallbladder removed with him as my surgeon. His office staff was nice and he worked with my other surgeon to get coordinated with schedules, but he rushed and hardly talked to me. I had some complication post op and the office staff said to go see GI dr. Would recommend finding another dr to perform surgery

The worst bed side manners by any Dr. I have ever experienced. Do not use!
