AVOID AT ALL COSTS! A visit for a routine procedure on my finger. The provider entered the room without introducing himself and immediately brought up an unrelated concern about my face before addressing why I was there. The entire visit lasted less than 10 minutes. Consent was obtained via iPad with no verbal explanation of risks or alternatives — nothing was discussed before the procedure began. The outcome was not what was described, and a separate specialist later confirmed the approach used was not what they would have recommended. If you come here, do not allow any treatment to begin until the provider has explained exactly what they are doing, why, and what the risks are. Ask questions before you sign anything

? PROCEED WITH CAUTION This is a repost—my original review was removed, but I believe it’s important to share what happened to warn others. I would not recommend this dermatology clinic based on my experience. I went in for a routine cyst removal on my hand, and the provider froze it off without ever explaining the risks, side effects, or healing process. My aftercare instructions? Just to keep it bandaged. The only “consent” form was on a tiny iPad—no verbal explanation, no printout, and no discussion. I was never told what to expect, nor was I given any alternatives. I’m now under the care of an orthopedic specialist because the area isn’t healing properly months later. To make matters worse, Dr. R. Todd Plott walked into the room without introducing himself, abruptly announced that I had “skin cancer” before any biopsy, and began the procedure on my hand before I had the chance to ask a single question. His bedside manner was cold and rushed—I felt dismissed, not cared… for. Also—who drops the word “cancer” before confirming anything with a biopsy? That’s not just poor bedside manner—it’s reckless and unprofessional. A competent dermatologist would say something like, “This spot looks concerning; I’d like to biopsy it to rule out anything serious.” Instead, he used the word like a grenade and then left me to deal with the anxiety. ? IMPORTANT NOTE ON INFORMED CONSENT: In Texas, doctors are legally required to obtain informed consent—this means they must verbally explain the procedure, outline all known risks, offer alternatives, and give you the opportunity to ask questions. It is not enough to hand you a form on an iPad and call it a day. That didn’t happen here. I was rushed into treatment with zero discussion. I highly recommend you insist on a printed copy of any authorization forms and do not allow any treatment to begin until the doctor has personally walked you through the details. Protect yourself. ? Know your rights as a patient. Don’t assume something is “routine” just because the office acts like it is. Ask questions. Demand answers. Advocate for yourself—because they won’t do it for you

I told the nurse the reasons I was concerned about a dark spot on my back, but when Dr. Plott came in the room, he didn’t ask me about my concerns which the nurse shared with him. Dr. Plott quickly looked at the spot and said it was “nothing to worry about.” He did about a 20 second treatment to it, thanked me for coming and left the room. He spent approximately 5 minutes with me. A few months later, I felt an unusual spot on my back where the dark spot was that Dr. Plott said was nothing to worry about. I went to a different dermatologist who referred me to a large cancer center where I’ve had well over 100 various types of appointments with specialists and an extremely long list of treatments and side effects so far. I will never go back to Dr Plott.

CAN NOT EVEN GET SOMEONE ON THE LINE TO GET ME SCHEDULED.

Dr Plott has that very rare combination of superior medical knowledge and unbelievable bedside manner..Quite simply the best Dr of any speciality I have ever been to. I recommended him highly!

My office visit was for a whole ten minutes with an NP and she did absolutely nothing. There was no treatment and the information I received was anything new. I informed the front desk person the reason for my appointment and was not informed of the cost. I was billed $169.00 for a ten minute consult. I can return for another visit for treatment of which I would be billed another couple hundred dollars. I have never been to a dermatologist that did not treat on a first office visit.

My wife visited the doctor and I accompanied her. The doctor had lingering touches when examining my wife that just creeped out both of us. He also touched, examined, my wife's sores but didn't wear any gloves while doing so. Is this sanitary?

I went to see Dr. Plotts based upon a referral. I went to have some sun spots evaluated. To my surprise, I was billed over $600.00 that day It wasn't the cost that bothered me, it was that there was no conversation about the costs or if there was a cost. I felt deceived, a switch and bait. Before you visit his offices, please inquire about the cost. I called the offices and it took me two weeks for them to call me back, I believe it was Nicole that called me back and she stated she was covering another area and did not have time to return calls. That is no way to run a billing office. Stay away for this office, there are plenty dermatologists out there for you to choose.

Dr Plott is an amazing doctor for both acne and aesthetics. Highly recommend him! He was so nice and easy to talk to and showed a genuine interest in what is best for the patient. Great experience!!

I would recommend Dr. Plott to anyone who wants an excellent dermatologist. His attention to questions and caring manner are very reassuring.
