Dr Paul was a life changer! Other surgeons tried to fix my back but only seemed to make it worse. I have suffered for o er 12 years. Dr Paul listened, considered carefully what was going on with my situation and developed a plan to fix it. Then he worked his magic and it has been a such a gift to get back to living again pain free. He’s truly a miracle worker. I would recommend him to anyone suffering with chronic spine pain!

Dr. Paul came to our family’s attention through personal friends. Both my husband and I had lower back pain and followed his office’s protocol at that time. We worked first with the physiatrist both receiving injections to help manage the pain. Within six months my husband’s pain improved and although he had planned to perform surgery, Dr. Paul determined it was no longer necessary. My back pain, however, did not improve and I was a candidate for a dual L4/L5 and L5/S1 fusion and decompression surgery. His entire staff offered tremendous support as I prepared for surgery as well as post surgery. I am now one year past surgery and I can confidently say my decision to have Dr. Paul handle my surgery was the BEST medical decision I have ever made. Dr. Paul is an orthopedic spine surgeon who will not perform surgery if he doesn’t think it is required, as we witnessed firsthand with my husband. Without hesitation, I have referred others to his practice. His credentials speak for… themselves but his personal attention and thoughtful discussions throughout my journey have been far more valuable than anything I could have expected.

I couldn’t be more pleased with dr. Paul. Not only does he have a great reputation, his talent for surgery and recovery proves it. I was given Dr. Paul’s name by a coworker and not even two days later I was in the OR. Talk about divine intervention. Although I had never met him before somehow I just trusted him completely he has that way about him. Back surgery is serious and frightening, But not with dr Paul im currently one week out from surgery ACDF . Pain is minimal. Thank you Dr. Paul.

Dr. Paul performed spine surgery on me 5 years ago. I find it amazing that I have never felt any negative or residual affects. I am more active now than even as a young man and I cannot say enough great things about this surgeon. So very grateful.

Do not waste your time with this doctor if you have Medicare he wants private insurance. I have severe foraminal stenosis in four areas of my spine and he did not recommend anything for the condition and leaves your appointment after five minutes.

AWESOME!!! Had my back surgery and feel 20 years younger!!!! 6 weeks after surgery and am doing everything I did before (well, almost - I have to wait another 6 weeks before I can really let loose according to Doc). Was up and walking after surgery - I actually tried to teach a nurse how to belly dance when I was allowed out of bed to walk for the first time after surgery. She stopped me in time though and we just walked around the floor and to PT and OT, walked up and down steps, got up and down on chairs and mock car, etc., to make sure I would be ok at home during recovery. I used a walker at home for about a week, then went to a cane for two weeks (I was afraid of falling, otherwise I would not have used it), and now I'm able to run down the stairs (when my knees permit) like I used to do in my 30's. WITH NO PAIN!!!! Also, he used plastic surgeon stitches so the scar would be thin and very straight. I love to belly dance and was worried about the appearance the scar would have (in… addition to the worry about my walking without pain). Bless Dr. Paul's hands. Bless all of his staff in his office. Having had scoliosis since for 50+ years, with 3 surgeries for scoliosis, both hips replaced, both knees replaced, I was terrified to have another surgery on my spine. I had been told previously I would either be paralyzed or die in another spinal surgery. After suffering debilitizing pain in my back, I learned I had pinched nerves, 3 discs shifting, on top of my scoliosis and due to having degenerative joint disease. I tried pain shots to no avail, was referred to Dr. Paul from the pain clinic. I was very hesitant and scared to death to have another surgery. And I told Dr. Paul that too! As soon as he sat down to talk to me, I was aware of a very humble knowledgeable surgeon that listened to me, answered all of my questions patiently, in whatever time it took. He never talked down to me, and asked my permission to look at my back, or touch my body in any way. I was amazed and surprised at the level of respect give to me. He ended up performing a 7 hour surgery on my spine. He told me… the truth, never scared me, but was very honest. After my 1st visit, I was totally relaxed and felt extremely confindent in him, his knowledge,his experience, and everything I was worried about was no longer there. I absolutely love his bedside manner and like to describe him by saying, 'He has a very quiet, humble confidence about him which took me totally off guard and gained my respect and confidence immediately. The surgery was successful. To my surprise, he was able to straighten my lumbar area in my spine. I had had a double curve, you see. Wow! NEVER ever thought that was a possibility. After 3+ months, I am feeling like a different person. My lifestyle has changed, and I am no longer forced to sit and watch life pass by because of pain. If you need a wonderful, knowledgeable, skilled surgeon, This is your surgeon!

I saw Dr. paul recently. Although a different dr. saw me first, dr. paul came in and i was a bit surprised by his AGE. After a few seconds, i realized that i was speaking with one of the BEST spine doctors around.I had a fusion in '91 and have been to a number of different back doctors in the last 20 years. Probably over 25 different so-called specialist's.I knew what questions to ask and was very pleased with the doctors responses.I've met with most of the top spine doctors in northern il, and Dr paul is in the top TWO! I'll be seeing him for a follow up soon. I look forward to more of his expertise to rid myself of this back/leg pain without narcotics.

Dr Paul has been my Dr for several years as I have navigated through dealing with back pain. My most recent surgery was a double spinal fusion TLIF. I cannot speak highly enough for his expertise,skill and caring attitude. I highly recommend him!!!
