Dr. Ryan Michael Tibbetts, MD

Dr. Tibbetts completed a reverse shoulder replacement on my right shoulder in March 2026. Beforehand he explained to me that if I were to choose to do this surgery it would be better to do it sooner than later as it can be harder to rehab as one gets older. Since my rotator cuff was badly damaged and made it difficult to use my right arm, I agreed. The first time I was prepped for surgery he came to visit me on the gurney before the operation and noticed a scratch where he planned to operate. He postponed the surgery out of caution to prevent a possible infection. Though disappointed, I appreciated his concern. When the surgery was completed the following month, I felt no pain thanks to the anesthesiology team and weaned myself off meds within a week. He referred me to a physical therapist in my small town and six months later I have 90% mobility in the joint and continue to work on building up the muscles that must do the job of the missing rotator cuff. During followup exams Dr.… Tibbetts and his team were always friendly and thorough. Though I hope I won't need any more joint replacements, if I did I would not hesitate to choose Dr. Tibbetts.

I have been blessed to be a patient of Dr Tibbetts off and on for 6 years, I’ve had two orthoscopic surgeries for meniscus tears on both knees and heading into the the direction of knee replacement before to long on one of them. I’ve heard that there are some dam good doctors at Texas Orthopedics but I venture to say I found “ the diamond in the ruff “ His kindness, and ability to listen makes you feel heard. I would and have recommended Dr Tibbetts to friends. If you are unsure about a procedure just ask him, would you recommend this for your mom? It was the look on his face that spoke volumes, it was then that I trusted him.

Dr.’s staff got me in for a new problem same day - got lucky with a cancellation. Dr. Tibbets has done surgery on my shoulder before and this visit was as awesome and consistent across the board as usual. He’s compassionate, and caring and an excellent physician. Staff is always professional and friendly and communicative. I would recommend him to friends and family any day of the week.

Thank you Dr Tibbetts for easing my mind on my shoulder concerns! After an MRI, that was done, I was concerned! Having multiple surgeries, I was not ready for another one! He took time to show me and explain, through PT , I would be able to regain my full motion!
