Dr. Sarah Ann Harris, MD

Dr. Sarah Harris was my obgyn throughout my pregnancy. I was very happy with the care I received from her and I would recommend her to others. She had to preform a c section because of a low lying placenta. She did an amazing job with the c section and my recovery has been a lot better then I imagined it would be. Also , the surgical team assisting her at Erlanger east were amazing.

This doctor told my 20 year old daughter that her 3 year history of pain was "all in her head". She wasn't friendly about it, she didn't attempt to have a conversation with my daughter - she just told her that and let her go. My daughter is now being treated at Vanderbilt by one of the leading specialists in pelvic pain and oddly enough they have discovered a PHYSICAL reason for her pain. Shame on you, Dr. Harris, for not believing someone due to their age and for not doing your job to the fullest. If you could not locate the issue then YOU should have been the one to refer her to someone who could. The doctor at Vanderbilt was shocked that you would say that to a patient. In addition, what doctor tries to refer a 20 year old to a pain clinic?? My daughter doesn't want pain medication, she wants answers and to live a normal life. Thank goodness she received a 2nd opinion and was sent to Vanderbilt. I would not see Dr. Harris nor would I refer any friends or family unless they were… assured of seeing someone else in the practice. Thank you, Dr. Harris, for slowing down my daughter's recovery rather than assisting in it. I truly hope the time she wasted with you does not hurt her in the end. I hope "it's all in your head" is not your standard of care. Your clinic director should be advised that you utilize statements such as those and instruct you that your patients are people who come to you for help and often during stressful, difficult times. "It's all in your head" should NEVER be your response regardless of your personal feelings. There are so many other ways to communicate with patients.

I just learned Dr. Harris has left Knoxville but had the pleasure of being her patient for 1 visit. I like her style and her commitment to listen to the patient

I would recommend Dr. Harris to anyone! She is amazing!! She did a partial hysterectomy and I couldn't be happier with my results. She took time to talk to me and answer all the questions I had and explained in full detail.

She was an amazing dr. Took incredible care of myself and my baby. I am forever grateful to her.
