Dr. Scott Jerome Costley, DO

I had to wait 6 months for an appointment and then 3 weeks before, he decides he’s no longer seeing new patients. I understand that he wants to change his policy. However, he should do it after fulfilling his commitments to those already making appointments.

I felt unsafe at this location; the administration didn't enforce masking and social distancing. The nurse was lovely, but wore a mask that bulged out at the cheeks so it was basically useless. I also sat around in an unventilated room for over 90 minutes, to receive approximate 20 minutes w/ a nurse and physician. Local non-medical businesses are better at enforcing health protocols.

I saw Dr. Scott Costley last year for a general check-up. He was attentive, present, and thorough.

Dr. Costly is absolutely excellent. The problem is the practice itself which is a "mill". Patients are charged by how many minutes they spend with the doctor, it is almost impossible to get someone on the phone and long wait times to talk to anyone is the norm. No on calls you back either. They've lost my lab results, the workers are constantly understaffed and rush you and it all stems from HealthQuests caring ONLY about profits. Also, be careful because charges are the same whether you see a PA a NP or an MD which is totally unfair. Terrible service but I'm trapped because I love the doctor.

Nice guy - seems competent but he took me by surprise when at the end out of brief mtg - he said ' in the office, he wants to b referred to as 'Dr. Costly ' --- outside the office ' you can call me Scott -- I know he's young and is proud to be a Dr. - but I too an a Dr. in a different field and like everyone to call me by my 1st name. I correct them when they even say Mr. xyz. Is the term Dr. superior to someone w/o a title? - the answer is no - we are all the same. Does being/having the Dr. title based on why others think he makes a salary? I don't work and make more in a week then this man does in a year - 1/2 of it I give to charity. Someone should kindly remind him -we are all the same -- BC he is a Dr. in MD. makes him no superior then anyone else.... respect, comes from delivery and performance - He's is not the guy for me. When a PCP and patient are together, they are on the equal ground - always.....If he's so much caught up in ' titles ' go back to serve the… country. Kinda of sad...

Dr. Costley should be cloned. My family met him at a practice in Saugerties years ago and followed him to Rosendale and now to Rhinebeck, because of his quality service, his kindness, his experience, and his compassionate manner. BEST FAMILY PHYSICIAN IN THE AREA!

The best I ever had, and I am 70 years old.

Dr. Costley was my doctor for several years. He helped me with all my medical problems. He would work on any problem I had and if he could not find the solution he would refer me to someone who could. He did not give up on anyone. I would still be with him if I did not have to move away. He is one of the few doctors who actually listen to their patients. He is one of the best doctors I have ever seen and I am 67 y/0.

Dr. Costley has been my family doctor for several years. He is very caring, with a gentle manner. He always thoughtfully listens to me and discusses my concerns and issues with me. He provides insights and suggestions to improve my health. Although occasionally I am waiting a while before he can see me, I know it is because he is giving other patients the time they need, and he will do the same for me, so it is worth the wait. One of the best doctors I have ever seen!

Very caring and considerate dr
