Dr. Shunai Jiang, MD

Dr Jiang exudes competence and skill as an opthalmic surgeon. Her examination was thorough and complete. The cataract surgery procedure was thoroughly reviewed with me and expected outcomes were discussed. My surgeries were completed quickly with no discomfort or complications. The outcomes exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the Marietta Eye Clinic staff treated me in a most professional and kind manner.

She was very kind, patient and knowledgeable about my surgery and was willing to help with whatever questions I had! Very sweet!

Dr. Jiang is excellent. She is thorough and highly professional. Her concern for my eye issue is commendable and greatly appreciated. I highly recommend her.

I would agree with other reviewers that Dr. Jiang is a highly trained glaucoma specialist. Her clinical testing skills seem good and she nearly does a "dance" around you in testing to determine your condition from every angle; so she's obviously accomplished that way. However, I feel I was done a dis-service as a patient. She apparently misdiagnosed my Glaucoma as type X, when it is likely, type Y as determined by another doctor. And yes, it does make a difference in understanding the disease and treatment options of a patient to correctly diagnose same. Further, she only offered ALT for Laser treatment although to be fair, she did tell me I could seek out a clinic that does SLT ( the most up to date and least destructive laser ) if I wanted to seek it out on my own ( but only after I as educated patient brought this up ), but she says that is not offered in her Canton clinic so she;s old school that way in my opinion. Research and consultation with other specialists agree that… my condition would be best treated with the newer SLT versus the ALT she offered me; hence I feel I would have potentially been done a dis-service as a patient if I had gone through with the alt procedure. Summary: this clinic and Dr. Jiang should be able to do both slt and alt on an as needed per condition basis and Dr. Jiang should be knowlegable of both. If SLT is offered though Marietta Eye at their other locations it was not mentioned to me in the appointment. Would give 2 1/2 stars but the only option was 2 or 3 so I give clinic benefit of doubt at 3.

I have been seeing Dr. Jiang for 6 months. She's has helped my Glaucoma more than any other specialist in this area. She is thorough, answers all my questions, very caring and an excellent surgeon. I would recommend her to anyone. She is awesome!
