Dr. Stephen Joseph Capps, MD

Positives: MD was competent as a physician and knowledgable about my condition. The wait time to see MD was reasonable. The staff was friendly. The office was clean and comfortable. Negatives: Minutes after introductions the MD had cut me off and was sarcastic twice. I think he thought he was making jokes; regrettably he made me feel incapable. The equipment to take a photo of my optic nerve didn't work the day I was there. MD excused it because "he would remember" how my nerve looked from the physical exam. I question his judgement and thoroughness in this situation. Why was a photo ordered if it was not important to have a photographic record so to see changes over time? My previous ophthalmologist monitored my nerve by taking photos. As I left, Dr. Capps was socially chatting with the staff by the receptionist desk. Couldn't help but think he was ready to lock the door behind me and start his weekend. I have only seen Dr. Capps once so my experience may not be typical… but I felt it would help others to know about his personality from my one experience. Bottom line if you are good with sarcasm and cutting corners you will find his medical care serve your needs.
