After fighting a rash on my hips for 8 to 10 years with no results, being misdiagnosed and a cabinet filled with medications which looked like a drug store, I finally got a referral to West Houston Dermatology . After one visit within 2 weeks about 80% rash disappeared after one shot. Dandruff like flakes from eyebrows and scalp also disappeared. I just received my second shot after four weeks. Just wish I would have came to West Houston Dermatology sooner.

I have been treated by Dr. Mahoney for Psoriasis on my feet. My feet were inflamed and had plaques of thick skin, the itching was driving me up the wall! Dr. Mahoney immediately put me on Rinvoq to control the itching and the moment I took the first tablet, my itching subsided. The Halobetasol cream along with it helped tremendously. I was able to go for my walk finally! God Bless Dr. Mahoney, he makes sure that you get better. His staff is awesome!

Don't Lose Hope After dealing with a painful, chronic, debilitating illness for the majority of my life, seeing more doctors than I can count, and trying every treatment in the book, I had essentially resigned myself to a lifetime of incurable suffering. I even tried for years to find my own solutions, going so far as to travel to distant states to see "the best doctors for that stuff in the country" as well as obscure alternative medicine gurus. Nothing ever worked. So, yet again, I went to see another doctor in the area, holding onto that irrational glimmer of hope that something would change, but realistically expecting nothing. Dr. Mahoney has “heart!” After seeing six doctors regarding a painful itchy rash that was diagnosed as Grover’s Disease, he (doctor #7) gave me relief and hope. This condition had prevented me from participating in normal activities and kept me from sleeping well for almost three months! Dr. Mahoney is knowledgeable, kind, and receptive to your needs. I found his front office staff very helpful in scheduling, answering questions, etc. The back staff is amazing, too! This is not a “one-size-fits-all” doctors office! I can’t recommend Dr. Mahoney more highly!

Recently I had the pleasure of having an appointment with Dr. Mahoney to address my battle with Psoriasis. I have struggled with Psoriasis for the past 20 or so years, in that time I was poked, prodded, and given multiple steroidal drugs to help identify what would help me calm and or cope with my Psoriasis to no avail whatsoever. After one visit with Dr. Mahoney, and a clear explanation of the cause, methods of treatment, and options available to me. I was confident in the recommendations I was given and chose to move forward with the SKYRIZI medication. After one injection of the SKYRIZI medication, I began to see results within days. My skin started clearing up and legions that I had had for years began to disappear. A month later I went in for my follow-up happy to report that almost all my skin was in full healing with no side effects. I have now taken my second injection and I am overjoyed to see continual healing throughout my body. The last remnants of the evidence… of the Psoriasis are fading away. I feel like a new man. I started seeing him about two years ago for severe psoriasis. I'd had it since I was in college, but as I had aged, it had gotten worse, and the lotions and sprays prescribed by other doctors were not working at all. From my first visit, Dr. Mahoney and his staff have always treated me with respect - when he first met me, he could see how stressed and tired I was from trying to cope. He started me on Stelara by injection once every three months, and I haven't looked back since! I saw results within the first two weeks, and was completely clear by my next visit. I have had some relapses as my psoriasis is caused by food sensitivities, but my immune system has gotten stronger and I have no outbreaks almost all the time. In fact, what I had been told was dandruff and dry scalp was outbreaks on my head. I haven't been able to use anything but shampoo - no conditioners, gels, mousse, spray, anything - since high school, and was told I was allergic/had sensitive skin/etc. Since being on… Stelara, I have no breakouts on my head and my hair has gotten thicker. I have seen Dr Mahoney for my Psoriasis he is absolutely one of the best or the best knowledge Doctor on this disease he offered the most advanced biological medications and also alternative therapy’s like XTRAC LASER, thanks to him my skin is clear and my Psoriasis under control.

i had to take my mom with a serous whole body rash to this doctor and what a bad experience i had ! first of all has a very rude office staff who are not friendly and kind at all rather with attitude . no respect for older people . It took 1 hour to get her in room , and then after this long waiting the doctor came in the room , he seemed to be in very rush , he stayed in room less than 5 min and didnt even wanted to hear the whole story, looked at my mom and left after ordering a creme . what a poor bedside manner he has !! The office seemed more interested in advertising and just getting money with selling creme and doing procedure . no real care and concern , didnt even give a follow up . this type of money greedy people should not be doctor . i will never suggest anyone to see this type of doctor ever

After years of trying to find a dermatologist that could ease my daughter’s severe eczema, we found Dr. Mahoney. After only our first visit, he put her on a treatment plan that had immediate positive results. He went outside of the usual steroid creams and ointments and put her on an oral medication that has been working. She has suffered with severe eczema since she was around 6 and now at 11, she is finally getting some relief.
