Stephen Scoper, MD

Dr. Scoper came highly recommended by the optometrist and a family friend. Unfortunately, the office visits and surgeries did not meet expectations. The office is in a high-volume optical surgery complex. Wait times were extremely long. Office and medical staff were rushed and didn't take the time to listen to the patient. Dr. Scoper was rather brusque, verging on condescending. He left little time for questions from the patient and caregiver. There was no contact with him after the surgeries - postoperative exams were attended by other physicians or interns, which was actually a relief as they were much kinder and more personable, and they made sure all of our questions were answered.If you are a patient with a great deal of experience with medical procedures, you may not mind, or may even be used to this kind of treatment; however, in this case the patient was an 80-year old female with absolutely no previous surgical experience and limited exposure to the medical community. … This was explained to the staff, but apparently time and compassion are in short supply here.
