Dr. Steven Paul Hodak, MD

Dr. Hodak has overprescribed medication, leading me to symptoms of severe anxiety and chest pain. When I informed him about the anxiety, he dismissed it as unrelated to medication and overly suppressed TSH. My TSH level was 0.4. I have a new endocrinologist and I feel much better. This guy needs his license removed. Patient abuse is a serious issue with this individual.

The worst encounter I’ve ever had with a doctor. He treated me like I was an inconvenience from the second our appointment started, and then essentially called me a liar when I answered many of his questions and stupid when I didn’t feel like I could confidently answer others. It was like he was coercing me into changing my experience in MY body. (I later went to another doctor who confirmed much of what I was feeling as completely normal/possible. Not to mentioned treated me with respect.) Absolutely unbelievable. Stay far far away.

Dr. Hodak is a wonderful doctor! After a thyroid nodule was found on an ultrasound, I was told I needed an FNA and was extremely anxious. After doing a search and reading his reviews, I called Dr. Hodak's office and was given a video appt within a few days. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and explained what to expect during and after the procedure. He had a great bedside manner and eased my fears. He fit me in for the FNA three days later before the Christmas break bc he said he didn't want me to worry myself over the holidays. How thoughtful of him! I had extreme anxiety prior to talking to Dr. Hodak, but the day of my appt, I was relatively calm. The procedure itself was pretty much painless - just some pressure. His assistant, Emily, was great, too, and I only needed a small bandaid when all was said and done. I had some soreness for two days due in part to him having to use a larger needle to drain fluid but that was it. Best part... Dr. Hodak contacted me within… 24hrs to let me know that the nodule came back completely benign!

dr hodak is dismissive and rude he sent me away with an incorrect diagnosis of telling me it was all in my head despite the clear physical symptoms i presented with. His ego is so big i’m surprised it fits through his office door thankfully i found an actually smart doctor that was able to diagnose and treat me. I think dr hodak needs to go back to school before he severely hurts someone.

Dr Hodak is very brilliant & caring. A great combination!

After seeing Dr. Hodak for several years at NYU for a thyroid issue, I have found Dr. Hodak to be very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest research regarding thyroid issues. He has helped me maintain a sense of balance with my problem , and has shown true concern for my medical care. Dr. Hodak was eager to coordinate his efforts for my improvement with my other doctors, and has shown compassion and support, for what was a most trying time. Respectfully, Mr. A. Lebowitz.

I had a biopsy performed today and I must say it was better than expected. Dr Hodak went over everything before the procedure and asked if I had any questions.all in all it was not a bad experience at all he spoke to me the whole time he was doing the procedure to explain exactly what he was doing trust me you are in good hands with dr Hodak.

I just saw Dr. Hodak this week,and he clarifies everything patiently and with kindness. You can always feel comfortable to ask him any questions. I have a lot of confidence in his expertise as a great doctor!!!

Dr. Hodak is an excellent endocrinologist. His diagnostic abilities, clearly presented treatment plans, compassion and sense of humor to allay anxieties, and involvement of the patient in his treatment process all make him a top choice. He effectively uses the NYU web app and his website thyroidparathyroid.com to communicate and educate his patient. He promptly shares and explains test results with his patients not only attesting to his diligence but also his immense care fore the emotional well being of those under his care. Mindy K

Dr. Hodak has been following me for 2+ years since my thyroid cancer diagnosis. His willingness to listen to my symptoms and take proper actions to ensure that my medication is alleviating my complaints have been unequivocal - it’s been trial and error, but his persistence and caring attitude show how much he advocates for his patients, and wants nothing but the best for them.
