Dr. Sunil K Dhunna, MD

I think I first saw Dr. Dhunna about 5 or 6 years ago. I had something called pleurisy that brought me to the ER by ambulance. I was very very sick. I could not breathe well at all and my lungs hurt whenever I was awake and breathing. I also could only walk a limited amount because I was so out of breath. I was referred to Elliot Pulmonology and got him. When I first met him I was defensive because I felt like the ER doctors didn’t realize how sick I was and just sent me home. Well, I had absolutely nothing to worry about with him. He met me and listened to me about what happened and even asked if I used to feel out of breath as a child which was something I had never thought of. He let me explain what I was feeling without feeling rushed which is SO IMPORTANT. He is so kind, so thorough, and explains everything well. He also made sure to do tests to check everything. He even found out I had sleep apnea which I had no clue I had. I feel like he did everything he could to test and make… sure I was okay and understand what was wrong with me. He then helped me find in inhaler that worked best for me and helped me get a nebulizer to help me breathe. I respect and appreciate this Doctor so much. I’m telling you he is amazing and truly cares about your health and physical wellbeing.

Dr Dhunna is go with explaining things but, he’s not good with anyone telling him that it’s not what he thinks it is he has not been writing proper notes. He does not listen to you trying to explain what’s been going on with your lungs. I would never recommend him to anyone that has had lung surgery or cancer. I’m outraged that a doctor can leave you sitting there trying to breath and your wheezing really bad and there’s nothing written in his notes that this keeps happening, even doing the breathing excises aren’t enough to control the breathing. I’m very disappointed with this office. I would recommend Elliott Hospital to anyone.

Dr Dhuna was great. Very nice and caring manner. Just in case you are wondering, his English is very clear. I look forward to visiting with him and I don't usually look forward to Dr Appointments.
