Dr. Susanne Marie Chow, MD

After having a mammogram elsewhere, a large tumor was found. I took my previous films to an independent breast fellowed board certified radiologist. The tumor was there on the 2 previous mammograms. In the 2017 film it was very small, but in the 2018 film it was easy to spot. How did my report say, "no changes from previous mammogram?"

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 by a different, breast fellowed, radiologist. The tumor was big and slow growing, so I thought is should have been seen on earlier yearly mammograms. I took my films elsewhere to have them read and the radiologist saw my tumor on both my 2017 and 2018 films. It was missed not once, but twice by Dr. Chow! DO NOT let this doctor read your mammogram, especially if you have dense breasts. I am filing a complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.

Avoid this doctor. She proceeded with a breast biopsy when area was not numb and did not respond with appropriate care when pain was reported. There were options available not implemented. I was assisted from the room pale, light headed and traumatized after the procedure. Her professionalism is questionable.

She gave me 1 shot of lidocaine and proceeded to do my breast biopsy without checking to see if I was numbed. In fact, she did this again the 2nd and 3rd times before determining I needed more than the usual amount of lidocaine before initiating the biopsy. I had excrutiating pain through the procedure; she rated my pain as a 7, but did not ask me what my pain level was-- I would have said a 9 or 10. She was cool and aloof. Thank goodness one of the nurses assisting was compassionate and helped me get through the ordeal. I would not go back to Dr. Chow.

Rude, condescending, missed a mass on my mammogram.
