Dr. Tamer Seckin, MD

Dr. Seckin has changed my life for the better. No other doctor took time to listen to my symptoms and make me feel like there was hope for my condition. Along with Dr. Goldstein, he performed a multi-organ surgery with precision and grace. Not only were Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein supportive throughout the entire process -- his team has been there every step of the way to take any questions I have had (pre and post-op). I cannot recommend Dr. Seckin and team enough!

Dr. Seckin is a skilled surgeon who performed a laparoscopic excision surgery for my endometriosis. I have minimal scarring and my recovery was very easy. After surgery, I was given videos and photos of the procedure as well as a detailed lab/surgery report. The majority of my pre- and post-op appointments were with Dr. Goldstein who works alongside Dr. Seckin. Dr. Goldstein was kind and compassionate. She took time to listen to my symptoms and made me feel heard. The staff at the Seckin Endometriosis Center are also wonderful. They are knowledgeable and attentive. They answered many of my questions before and after surgery and offered advice from their own personal experiences. This was my first major surgery and I felt like I was in incredibly good hands with the doctors at the Seckin Endometriosis Center. I am very grateful to the doctors and staff here!

TL;DR It took me 27 years, tons of doctors, and two surgeries to finally be officially diagnosed with endometriosis and now endo-free. But what it REALLY took was finding the RIGHT doctors and practice--the Seckin Endometriosis Center. Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein are the premier experts in endometriosis and have assembled an amazing staff who will support you throughout your entire case. While I've been in debilitating pain ever since my first period at 12 (with my middle and high schools sending me home every month), it was only in my mid-20s that I first heard of endometriosis and, upon research, knew that it was the cause of my pain. Being limited to in-network, it took seeing over 7 doctors before finding one who was knowledgeable enough with endometriosis to suggest surgery. Because my own information was pretty limited, I believed I was seeing the right person, and in 2012 I had a laparoscopy and was subsequently told that I did NOT have endometriosis, and that I should… start pursuing 'pain management'. I did this for years as the pain progressively got worse, trying everything from acupuncture to physical therapy with no success, until one day I read about Dr. Seckin. I was so desperate for help that I made an appt., despite the office being out of network, and it was by far the best decision I've ever made. Seeing Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein made it immediately clear what a huge difference there is between a generic gynecological surgeon and true endometriosis specialists. They spent time with me in my visit, asked me questions that I had never been asked during my entire medical history, and made me aware of things that no doctor had ever told me. (Beyond that, their office is beautiful and state-of-the-art, and they have the nicest staff I've ever interacted with, which, when you're making multiple appts., needing records, etc., makes a huge difference.) When they recommended surgery, it took me time to convince myself to put my body through that again (of course now I wish I came to that decision sooner knowing what's on the other side!), but for almost two years, Dr. Seckin's office tirelessly worked with my insurance to help me defray the costs of an out-of-network surgery. The prep for my laparoscopy was vastly different from my previous experience--this time I felt informed and prepared in a way I had not been before. Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein employed tactics that had not been a part of that previous surgery, and when all was said and done, they told me that not only did I have endometriosis, but they had diligently excised all of it! (I should also add that despite this being a more involved surgery given endo was actually found and removed, my incisions and healing process were SO much better than my first surgery--again, a testament to having endo specialists vs. a generic GYN surgeon). It's been almost three months and I feel like a completely different person, even though I still have some healing to do. I no longer find myself planning around "will I be sick that day?". And post-surgery, I have gotten such great care from everyone at the Seckin Endometriosis Center, including diet information and other resources to ensure a pain-free future--the doctors and staff are truly invested in my quality of life overall. (You need only see all of the work they've done with EndoFound to see how committed they are to education, prevention and successful intervention when it comes to endometriosis. Attend a conference if you can--I still learned so much despite all the research I had been doing on my own!) My only regret is not seeing Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein sooner, thinking of how my pain-free life could've started earlier, but for now I'll just focus on telling everyone I know about them and making sure my fellow endometriosis sufferers don't wait to find relief!

It’s been 3 months since my surgery by Dr. Seckin & for the first time in 5 years since my diagnoses I am pain free from any endometriosis symptoms. All thanks to Dr. Seckin for making this possible ???? I finally feel like I have my life (and appetite ha) back. I was very impressed and grateful for how Dr. Seckin and his team cared for me, especially during this pandemic. Dr. Seckin is a strong light of hope for all endometriosis warriors. He is one of the most understanding doctors I have ever encountered, a great listener that takes every bit of your concerns into high consideration to get to the source of your pain with a lifetimes worth of knowledge on the disease. I recommend all those suffering with endometriosis to meet with Dr. Seckin —the sooner, the better! Dr. Seckin & Dr. Goldstein's medical assistance, specifically excision surgery, hysteroscopy, and IUD placement, has changed my life. I have been experiencing symptoms since I was 12 years old. For the first time I have a drastic reduction in gastro and gynecological symptoms. More specifically my experience with endometriosis consisted of horrific cramping, frequent urination, exacerbated reflux, stomach sensitivity, and inner vaginal pain. I am now 3 months post-op and I am doing terrifically! My excisions are small and barely noticeable. I feel for the first time in 13 years like I don't live a life ruled by chronic pain. The most I have is occasional cramping during my menstrual cycle which only lasts a day whereas in the past I would have tremendous cramping for 7 days and even have pain days outside of my cycle. I no longer have heavy periods, which typically caused fatigue, as well. Even my PMDD, specifically heightened anxiety prior to and during my cycle, has reduced. I cannot… thank them enough for how they have been there for me when no other medical staff member or office has. Their whole team is amazing and I felt so supported throughout this entire journey from consultation to post-operative care. I HIGHLY recommend utilizing Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein for not only their surgical skills but overall care of the person, such as the provision of outside resources if needed. They are very committed to assisting those who have felt overlooked and undertreated for their gynecological health issues. They make you feel heard, seen, and validated in your pain and experience.

I had a great experience with this practice! My concerns were heard re: uterine polyps and bleeding, and my surgery was very successful. The staff at both the office and the hospital were so caring and top notch; I really felt taken care of. In fact, I almost cried on the operating table because I was so filled with gratitude for the doctors and their team. I would recommend this practice to anyone with uterine issues. My only regret is that I did not find Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Seckin sooner!

Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein along with their amazing office staff provided me with the warmth and care you only pray to find when you’re in need of medical attention. After years of being misdiagnosed I was almost emotional at how attentive Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Seckin were to my concerns and how cared for I felt. Whenever I called the front desk with one of my thousand insurance questions I was never met with annoyance or attitude but with the kindness of a friend. I am finally understanding how women have been able to live their lives during their child bearing years. I had been misdiagnosed for years, then after a surgical diagnosis told to just take birth control until menopause. Within twenty minutes of meeting the doctor he not only heard my concerns, he then showed me where one of the major problems was coming from. Since the surgery I am a different person. Please don't hesitate to call and make an appointment. From the moment you speak with Dannay you will immediately feel comfortable and be able to tell that the empathy they show you is real. I just had the deep excision surgery with Dr Seckin and Dr Goldstein. The staff and the doctors are all very attentive, caring and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is dealing with endometriosis. I immediately felt a difference in my pain and all over my body where the lesions were removed. Most impressively in my back. I’ve been struggling with pain in my lower back and sciatic nerves down my leg for a long time. The surgery immediately relieved the pressure there.
