Dr. Tara Michelle Graff, DO

Find another doctor. She never listened, showed zero empathy or concern and incredibly arrogant. I ended up in the hospital shortly after my first chemo treatment. Never heard from her or her staff.

I really hate to be critical of any health provider bc most are exceptional; however from my experience across several years, Dr. Graff is abrasive, rude, and makes an already uncomfortable and scary situation even more difficult. I would imagine she's competent, but so are many others in the metro that provide compassionate, patient-cemtered care. If you are reading this, that likely unfortunately means that your life has been touched by cancer, and I'm so sorry you are navigating that. I strongly recommend finding an oncology team that is both competent and compassionate, as both are vital to your mental health and emotional well-being during your cancer treatment and survivorship.

Absolutely terrible and completely incompetent and as a result I lost my mom. She shouldn’t be allowed to practice medicine anymore. Part of my mom’s treatment included the drug Rituximab which is known to provide extreme outcomes with COVID even if fully vaccinated as my mom was with all boosters. They didn’t do one COVID test until after her second treatment for an unrelated issue and as a result it was too much for her to handle. She obviously doesn’t care about her patients and didn’t excerise the least bit of caution here. Give patients COVID tests before treating them with drugs that amplify it. It doesn’t seem to hard to figure that one out. Unbelievable that this happened due to her gross negligence!!!

Filibusters rather than answer your questions. Arrogant. Condescending. Passive aggressive. Ordered labs before I even saw her for the first visit and hired her! Bullies. Persuades with fear.

Dr Graff always takes her time with me and I never feel rushed. She asks helpful questions, and listens thoroughly to all my questions and concerns. I have always felt like I am her most important patient.

Sadly my beloved mother passed away 2 years ago from non-small cell lung cancer. With her passing not a day goes by that I do not think of her and the people who loved and cared for her. Dr Tara Graff was thoughtfully chosen by my mother and her daughters to be her warrior/oncologist during this obvious uphill fight. Mom was not at all naive regarding her journey. Most important to her and us, transparency. Dr Graff was honest, kind, smart, open to criticism and new ideas. I specifically remember toward the end of moms battle sitting down with a woman sensitive to the heartbreak of losing someone soon that was so loved. That person was Dr. Graff. She was making her rounds at the hospital and clearly pretty busy with patients. She took extra time to sit with me and even give a hug. She did not pull any punches regarding the outlook for my mom. Who by the way, lived approximately 6 months longer than her predicted life expectancy. Dr Graff did more than we could have wished for. Most… important, she helped my mom understand what was happening with and to her body. She encouraged her to live for today and yes, try all treatment available. She gave my sisters and I honest feedback and compassion. I would give Dr Graff nothing less than a superior rating. She is a doctor, mother, wife yes. But what came through to me personally from her, is she is human. And a smart compassionate human. I pray I never need to seek treatment for cance or any other loved one for that matter. But if that happens, I may just move from Chicago to Desmoines to seek out Dr. Tara Graff.

This Dr is aweful. I would not recommend her to anyone. She makes you feel like when you mention side effects you don't know what you are talking about like you are making it all up. Why would a cancer patient tell lies? She is rude and has a terrible bed side manor. I am so uncomfortable when I go in. I am looking for a new Dr. She doesn't stand up for patients against surgeons or how you really feel.
