He rushed through my visit without hearing me out at all. He sat in his chair the entire time and didn't bother to get up and assess me at all. He slapped a diagnosis on me after about 5 minutes and no examination. This guy seems to just be in it for the money. Such a shame.

I had a very disappointing experience with this cardiologist. If your condition isn’t textbook or standard, don’t expect him to take the time to look deeper or consider alternative causes. He rushed through the appointment, didn’t listen or to my concerns, and seemed more interested in ending the visit quickly than actually helping. The diagnosis he gave felt like a way to dismiss me, not a thoughtful medical opinion. He prescribed beta blockers, which were completely ineffective for my symptoms. Finally six months later I found a doctor who actually took the time to listen, think critically, and look outside the box. I would not recommend this cardiologist if you’re dealing with a complex or unclear health issue

While in the ER/ICU at Hoag Hospital, I met with Dr. Mitiku for the first time who outlined his plan of attack to get my heart healthier. He believed that either the chemical conversion of my heart would work or the cardioversion would do it. I was terrified of the second option that would require surgery. The reason is my previous cardiologist, Dr. Kazemi, wanted electroshock therapy for my heart. She did not explain it very well and was extremely rude when she shoved in my face my ECG/EKG results. Dr. Mitiku took the time to explain the "procedure" (it's such as easy procedure) in full setting me at ease after he got to the source of why I was so hesitant to the cardioversion. He has performed thousands of these "procedures" and everyone has had great success. I felt SO much calmer when he explained what the "procedure" would consist of since it usually takes 30 minutes while in your recovery room. I said to him I do not even know you very well, but, sign me up! I have such… confidence in you! Let's get this done! We proceeded with the chemical conversion and within 3 days I converted back to sinus rhythm and instead of having the cardioversion, I was being discharged from the hospital. It's an absolute miracle that I have Dr. Mitiku, from Cardiology Specialists of Orange County, as my cardiologist who specializes in cardiac electrophysiologist or cardiac EP. He is the absolute best. My heart is on the mend and thank God for sending me Dr. Mitiku just at the right time! Praise the Lord!

Dr. Teferi Y. Mitiku is among the finest doctors in the world. I noticed a few FAKE reviews posted about him. Don't believe it. I am a current patient, and he is a PHENOMENAL DOCTOR. Need proof? He graduated from UCLA's science program (molecular cell and developmental biology, ranked 6th in the country), with highest honors (meaning finishing in the top 10% of his class). He then obtained his medical degree from UCLA (also ranked 6th in the country), and then did his residency at Stanford and further training at Yale, while also being a professor of medical at UC Irvine. Despite his superior intelligence, he is also a compassionate and caring individual. He is humble, and very passionate about saving lives and improving your quality of life. This guy is a fraud. He writes his own positive reviews. He likely doesn’t even have a real MD as his knowledge is next to none.

Dr Mitiku is an excellent doctor who takes his time with his patients. He makes sure his patients understand their disease process as well as what the treatment plan will be why one treatment plan is recommended over the other. It’s pretty rare to see doctors give compassionate care to their patients, but that’s who Dr Mitiku is: a kind, compassionate doctor.
