Dr. Thomas Curtis Namey, MD

After experiencing a myriad of debilitating health problems for years that were being treated separately and never getting completely resolved, Dr. Namey brought me the answers and relief that I had been desperately seeking for years. Due to his treatment, I'm finally feeling relief from the painful joint aches, frustrating skin problems, and reoccuring abdominal issues that become my "new normal" for far too long. I feel like I have a new lease on life and am eternally grateful for his knowledge and course of care.

I initially consulted Namey for a possible arthritic condition. He noticed some dry skin on my elbows and diagnosed psoriasis based upon this visual observation. He also diagnosed psoriatic arthritis based upon visual observation of my fingers with subsequent bloodwork to support this diagnosis. I thought it was unusual that he did not take a skin sample for diagnosis of psoriasis nor did he order X-rays for the arthritis. Fast forward almost 2 years later... I saw a dermatologist who diagnosed my skin condition to be dermatitis and I also saw a different rheumatologist, who ordered X-rays, indicating I did not have psoriatic arthritis! Namey comes across as a knowledgeable physician but why is he diagnosing skin problems (psoriasis) when he is not a dermatologist and why does he not support the psoriatic arthritis diagnosis with X-rays?

Ive Already gotten relief from symptoms I’ve had my whole life.

Dr. Namey is most excellent. He is thorough and knew exactly what to do for my psoriasis. Sores I've had on my legs for many years are healing now due to his care. He's won my respect.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Dr Namey at first he was great but over the past few times I’ve been going to him something seemed off he’s book smart yes but hes been acting rude and very arrogant he wanted to put me on antibiotics my pain has been horrible and he will gives me a cortisone shot his hand really shakes and almost missed my finger if I need to see him before he acts like he doesn’t care I’ve called and asked for prescription he doesn’t call it in he waited until I came back into the office I asked him when he wanted me to come back he said rudely 4 months he didn’t even submit my claims to my insurance company

He is Not Board certified and it shows.

My GP recommended Namey due to the high ratings on the Internet . He diagnosed me with ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis. He said he could put the arthritis into remission and prescribed antibiotics. I questioned taking antibiotics on a long term basis and he asked if I would rather end up taken biologics and DMARDS. After approximately 1 1/2 yrs of seeing him, I decided to seek a 2nd opinion. I was misdiagnosed! I have osteoarthritis. The long term usage of antiobiotics caused havoc on my digestive system! Do not see this "Doctor."

Took more time with me than anyother. Obviously book smart, but amazing clinical skiils. Looked at my tongue and diagnosed B12 deficiency. Looked at my neck and saw a white spot, and told me I might have a thyroid issue. I did, it was Hashimoto's Throiditis. And I was sent to him for a positive ANA, which turned out to be a false positive!

No better arthritis doc, but even more!

Best doc there is. My arthritis in complete control. Now he helping my diet and nutrition. We was a professor of nutrition at UT for years. A bonus!
