Dr. Tina F Jenq, MD

I am non-binary and I had my top surgery (double mastectomy with free nipple grafts) with Dr. Jenq. I could not have had a better experience. Her staff was incredibly helpful and kind to me throughout the whole process. If any negative reviews exist for Dr. Jenq and her staff I want to say that my personal experience with them was everything I could have hoped for. Dr. Jenq has a wonderful bedside manner and always made me feel extremely comfortable and supported through everything. It was hard to have to show my chest to someone I didn’t really know during our first consultation due to gender dysphoria but she made the process so quick and professional that it drastically improved my comfort in such a vulnerable state. Her and her staff also always respected my gender identity and used my preferred pronouns (they/them). A couple days after surgery I had a question about the binder you wear post op and I immediately was met with helpful and reassuring answers when I called the office… to ask. By the time I went to my last post op appointment the front desk was calling me by name without even looking me up just because we had vibed so well. My results were exactly what I was hoping for. My recovery was also very smooth and I had no complications. If you are interested in getting gender affirming surgery or even just plastic surgery for cis people, I highly recommend Dr. Jenq and I have already referred 2 people in my life to her for similar surgeries. Please don’t be discouraged by any (very few) negative reviews. I would recommend giving her a chance to prove them wrong like she did for me. She has changed my life and I will forever be grateful

Had top surgery here. The good news is I'm healing well and the bad news is everything else. This entire office, up to and including Dr Jenq, cannot communicate effectively or keep anything straight. I saw her for a consult and was told to wait for insurance to approve, and then, after checking in for MONTHS, finally got a secretary (there is heavy turnover) who said my file looked "super messed up". I had been approved weeks after my visit but it had fallen thru the cracks completely, and because there is a time limit on these approvals (??) They scheduled me for surgery TWO WEEKS LATER. then they changed the date to a few days earlier on me. When I was distressed by this last second change, the secretary got defensive and angry with me, and was visibly annoyed with me when I came in for the pre op appointment. During this whole experience, the secretaries referred to me as Girl, despite being a 26 year old trans person, coming on for gender affirming surgery, and telling them, every… time, to stop. The surgery itself, which took place elsewhere with different staff, went smoothly, but Dr Jenq brushed off my questions, I had to ask other nurses. The incisions are crude and uneven, though, and she did not keep what I had told her about my results in mind at all. I was also very afraid in the operation room, crying, and she didn't say a word to me as they put me under. It was traumatic. she had no respect for my body or comfort whatsoever and was just doing her job Dr Jenq did not give me any information on my recovery timeline or aftercare and did not assure I was safe. I wasn't given instructions on how to care for my bandages or taper off my medications. I had concerns at our one week appoinent that were ignored, and at the "3 week" which was at 5.5 weeks because they failed to schedule it and I had to reach out, I was scolded for being dissatisfied with this care. At both check ups, the doctor stood several feet away and glanced at me, not looking, touching, or asking questions. At the end of the appointment, after being berated half-naked on a cold room by someone who suggest I just tattoo the nipples she crudely cut back on, she asked if I wanted to come back in for a final appointment in a month. I said no, and she hastily left the room and told a secretary "I'm done with her." This entire ordeal was stressful and dehumanizing, I wouldn't be able to reccomend someone go under her knife with a clean conscience. My surgery wasn't for a life threatening issue, I cannot imagine how horrific the complete lack of organization and empathy on this office would be if a life was on the line. If you're reading this, please keep looking. You deserve better

Where to start!.... First let me begin by stating I wasn't expecting much to begin with. It was my initial consultation with her, she is a specialist not to mention a plastic surgeon! This surgical specialty as was stored in my mind, had carried the unfortunate stereotype of being the most arrogant,superficial, self absorbed and costly of all the surgical specialties. I couldn't of been more wrong with how I anticipated Dr. Jenq's preparedness, demeanor, professionalism and patient awareness to be. Not only was the plastic surgeon stereotype debunked but I was acutely impressed by her knowledge of who I was, my individual circumstances were, knew test results and had options for me to consider already. She didnt look at my file, a computer screen, notes or anything.. spoke to me in the perfect mix of medical, technical, and laymen terms that it felt as she was talking to me not at or down to me. Never have I ever been so humbled and impressed by a medical professional in my… entire life and believe me when I say I'm no stranger to the scalpel over the years and I was married to a medical professional for 11 years to boot. If all medical professionals would apply half the effort Dr. Jenq does, they would notice an immediate positive difference in their practices and work. I just wish Dr. Jenq could replace all the doctors and specialist I have or will need to see.

Dr. Tina Jenq and staff are amazing! If I ever decide upon any procedure in my future I'd, with out a doubt, come to her first! She has been extremely accommodating. After I had to cancel my surgery with my previous surgeon due to terrible circumstances, I found Dr. Jenq. She got me in incredibly fast and last minute compared to other surgeons in the area. Not only that, but she was by far the most kind doctor. I HIGHLY recommend her. The staff are very informative and patient with all questions. If you are looking for comforting staff that will go above and beyond for you, this is definitely the place to go.

I had cut off the end of my finger and she went above and be on and saving most of it instead of just remove the kindest sweetest woman I've ever met

Tina Jenq did a breast reduction on me and did and out standing job, she is and out standing plastic Sergent, staff is great and , Tina Jenq saw the problem and fix my problem Fast but with care .It was a big job to do but if i ever need any thing that needs fix i would not trust any one else , and she is honest , I trust her all the way

Dr Jenq and staff was very professional and made me feel at ease ,DR Jenq is very caring and has a great attitude . made me smile , she spent a enough time with me and gave me hope four my problem she even took the time to explained what need to be done and there was 2 options on how to do it . I look forward to seeing her and her staff my wait time was 2 minutes . she has not done anything to me yet . but i know it will be great and she has my best interest in mind
