Dr. Virginia E Maurer, MD

My Breast Cancer was in 1997 - All the recommendations were to go to this fantastic doctor, Dr Maurer. I never felt afraid or worried, she gave me that comfort and reassurance that I needed that it was going to be okay. It’s 22years later & I see her every year for a check up. I learned that self- exam is so very important for early detection. I recommend her to everyone!! ????

My grandmother has been coming to Dr. Maurer for 20 years. Although Dr. Maurer is a great doctor, my own personal experience with one of the receptionist was completely disgraceful. After being referred by my OBGYN to be looked at by Dr. Maurer, the office was only able to schedule me an appointment a month later. Four hours before my appointment I got a phone call saying they didn’t have a referral and that she will cancel my appointment. I showed up at my appointment that I said I would pay for out of pocket, only to have this woman call my mother behind the desk, hand her the phone and demand her to call my doctor for the referral, while she claimed she had work to do. She also proceeded to tell another patient she’s been “dealing with” me all day. I was never rude once, so I’m not sure what she meant by that. Horrible experience. Go elsewhere.

Dr. Maurer is the real deal: competent, compassionate, greets you with a smile and is truly passionate about her calling. She runs a foundation dedicated to informing young women about preventative tests etc.

Dr. Maurer is a top notch breast surgeon on Long Island. I highly recommend her for all your breast health needs, including surgery. She is the most caring, thorough and precise breast surgeon. She will spend whatever time is necessary to properly diagnose your breast issue, review your treatment options and provide you with referrals (if needed). She took amazing care of me during my routine check-up visits over the years before I needed any type of surgery. Then when faced with a breast issue years later, there is no other breast surgeon I would have trusted or selected to perform my total double mastectomy. Dr. Maurer saved my life in so many ways & held my hand throughout my entire journey. Ladies, trust me, this is the type of doctor you want on your team.
