Dr. Walter Burr Rose, MD

I was referred to Dr. Rose for gallbladder removal in 2003 after a hydascan showed it wasn't functioning. I'd been throwing up every day for months. He refused to do the surgery since I was a female and didn't have pain so didn't have the "common symptoms". He made me do NINE MORE GI tests over the next 5 months which was miserable since I was already nauseous, very expensive, and I caught hell at work for missing so much for these tests. Looking back, I think he didn't read my referral, as I didn't have gall stones, which is why I had no pain, it was just not functioning, so all those tests and delayed treatment were for nothing. He was very cold and rude as well. I didn't know I could choose another surgeon as I was young and referred by the diagnosing Dr. I wish I'd known I had options then.

Could not have asked for a better surgeon to attend and operate on my brother. There were some complications and Dr. Rose was able to access the issues and surgically repair the problem. Before and after both procedures Dr. Rose sat down with me and explained what he intended to do and then exactly what happened and his hopes for a full recovery. Stern, kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable of expected outcome.

I was referred to this person by my general practitioner. I had several gallstones and had to have a simple endoscopic gallbladder surgery in May of 2018. Several days later I had terrible pain that radiated from my abdomen to my chest. I called 911 and ended up in the ER due to the fact I thought I was having a heart attack. It was found that I had elevated liver enzymes and also a bile leak. The next week 1 and 1/2 liters of bile was drained from my abdomen. I have since seen Dr Rose a couple of times for return check ups and was treated very unprofessionally by Dr Rose. He was very disrespectful to me and my family members, simply for asking questions about the healing process and how long it would take. During my last visit he told me that I was “back to normal” and that I should act like I was “back to normal”. He then turned to my daughter who was there with me and stated “they are like babies, sometimes you have to give them a push”. It seems that since I have suffered so much… and continue to suffer due to this surgeon’s mistake, that he would at least treat me with some respect and display a little humility but so far it has been the opposite. If you are referred to this surgeon I would urge you to look further and for sure do your research before settling for Dr Rose. Since I was referred to Dr Rose by my primary care physician, I did not research at the time but have since and I have found that I am not the only person this has happened to at the hands of Dr Rose.

Please do not ever go to this doctor for gallbladder removal. He just messes up everything. He operated on one of my own and had severe complications of bile leak and ended up in hospital for more than 5 weeks. Please do your research before taking this doctor.

GREAT SURGEON AND OPERATED ON ME AND MY MO SERVEAL TIMES AND WAS TOATALLY SATISFIED EVERYTIME.

Dr. Rose consulted with my daughter about her symptoms, diagnosed it accurately, ran the tests and Bingo, he was absolutely correct. He had her in surgery within 24 hours. With a single sight incision he removed her gall baldder. There is no scar and he followed up promptly with a phone call, himself. Dr. Rose is a very caring doctor and explains everything in terms you can understand. We were fortunate he was able to do the surgery.

I have Barretts Esophagus. I had SEVERE reflux burning, etc., for years. Dr. Rose re-positioned my hernia back down in my stomach and built a new flap for my esophagus. Had absolutely NO pain and left the hospital in two days. Have had NO reflux since. NONE! Easiest surgery I've had. Dr. Rose tried to get me to have this surgery years before. Boy was I dumb! Wish I'd listened to him. Like he said..."Gastro docs treat reflux, Surgeons cure it!" Thanks Doctor Rose! PS: Yes, you can burp and throw up after this surgery! Good Christian as well!

Easiest Gall-bladder surgery. One timein for consultation and scheduling daysurgery. After surgery, no pain, feltfine, no need for pain medicine (but did have prescription if needed). Went forfollow up appt/got band-aid...no more return visits. Very caring and concernedextremely qualified and professional. Dr. Rose lives up to his name, he istruly a 'ROSE'.
