Dr. Rhea Wesley Dean JR., MD

Have been a patient of Dr Dean's for years. Getting any kind of treatment is like pulling teeth. He doesnt believe in any ailment. It's all in your head. Have had chronic migraines for 30 years, he doesnt believe in them or treating them. Believes its caused by "something else" and I need to find out what, there's no such thing as chronic migraines is his stance. Been having trouble sleeping during this pandemic garbage and being out of work and all the stress. Tried to prescribe something i had had years ago that didnt work, when i said it didnt work, i was told to take benadryl. Do yourself a favor, find another doctor like I'm going to. This one doesnt believe anything could possibly be wrong with you and if you need medicine you're just gonna become a drug addict. Good luck if you stay here.

Have known this doctor all his life. Worked with him in past. One of my relatives was his long time patient, unfortunately. (We should've "rated him" sooner.) Over the years, he missed several of this relative's most urgent diagnoses, heart-related critical stuff, too, that any medical student would have known. Why? Due his disinterest & low skills at each visit (we all noticed); treated her like a Walmart Line Customer, without regard to anything but his next exit...cha-ching! These were "classic clinical presentations" that he missed, many times. She had to seek other care, often, after each visit. Wow. What a Doctor! His main goals in life are still to climb the social ladder (1st) & make more money - billing Insurance for all it's worth, "upcoding" - instead of concentrating on his Patient's needs. Spends all his time (as always has) making sure he "looks good", and especially, this to the medical world of rotten core elites. Often plays his hand at your expense, behind the scenes.… Beware the surface "nice doctor" facade!

I found Dr. Dean in a magazine as one of Knoxville's best doctors. I went to him, and they are right. He listens to me. The office will test for many problems right in the office. Dr. Dean will refer you to other physicians when needed. The nurse always calls you back after blood test, for referrals, and to answer any questions, sending off forms promptly, and even gets any forms and blood test etc. I need for other doctors. Lastly they have night hours in office which is awesome.

My son and I have been going to Dr. Dean since he first opened his practice in Powell. No matter what the problem is, Dr. Dean and his FANTASTIC staff have always gone the extra mile in providing us with the time, care, and understanding that I look for. Dr. Dean spends time and is knowledgeable. If he doesnt know the answer he finds it or refers us to someone who does have the answer. He is a 'bull dog' when it comes to 'getting it right'. His staff is awesome!!! I would never think of changing physcians!
