Dr. William Garner Newton SR., MD

Surgery was in need of redo. Wants to do surgery and nothing more to assist in recovery. Follow up poor. Help with pain and rehabilitation very poor. Office staff became short and rude after surgery.

Dr. Newton is amazing. Thank you for making the pain go away. Dr. Newton and his staff are caring, compassionate and professional. It is so comforting to have a doctor actually listen to you and care about you as a person. If Dr. Newton tells you he can do something, you can believe it, he delivers like Domino's.

Dr. Newton is one of the best doctors I've ever seen. He is wonderful. Excellent surgeon. Very kind and compassionate. He is there to help you. There aren't enough good things to say about him.

I was initially diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and was referred to a rheumatologist who did bloodwork, and the results were not conclusive, but Dr. Newton and the rheumatologist still went under the assumption of psoriatic arthritis. After several months of physical therapy the improvement was minimal, and only during my 2nd visit was I given a cortisone shot (other orthos I consulted after the fact told me I should have received cortisone at my 1st follow-up). I ultimately went to the Mayo clinic, where they actually spent time with me and ran me through several tests. As it turned out I've been dealing with frayed cartilage NOT psoriatic arthritis!!! Esentially I had to spend time, money, and effort - not to mention thinking that I had a systemic arthritic condition at the age of 36 - when it could have been properly diagnosed if Dr. Newton and the rheumatologist spent more than just a few minutes with me per visit.

Orthopedist that never asks to see the patient walk or do any other type of movement diagnosis?!? Called 4 times for a referral for an injection. NEVER returned the phone call to either me or the referring physician for the injection.

I saw Dr. Newton for several years (treating torn meniscus with physical therapy) before deciding to go ahead with the repair. I went for 2nd opinion with another Dr. before deciding on Dr. Newton. Dr. Newton was previously team doctor for one of the professional teams here in Dallas, plus he was recommended by my sister. The procedure was done at an off-site surgical center in day surgery and I paid about half of what the other Dr. wanted in his pricey N. Dallas location. The surgery results have been good -- I did more PT afterwards and have not had a return of problems in two years. The only negative at the time was his somewhat rude office mgr. Hopefully, that has improved. PS, I also paid cash for my MRI, saving tons of money. $500 at the King place across the street from Presby.

I agree with prior post...I trusted he knew what he was doing and I had shoulder surgery and I kept going back to let him know I was still hurting and he would tell me it was scar tissue...it has been 2 yrs since my surgery and my shoulder hurts just as bad or worse...don't feel like being cut on any more so I tolerate the pain...sigh...

never could seem to get the right problem nailed down....was always something different each visit. kept wanting me to come back for followups, but never getting any results. waste of time and money!
