Dr. Drew Harrison Hecht, DO

My father had a kidney stone that required a stent. Dr Hecht took him in for the procedure and that was the last we saw or heard from the doc. My father was sent to his room and we were never told anything. He spent the night urinating small amounts of frank red blood and the doctor never checked on him. He was discharged this morning by the house doctor. Last evening the nurses at the hospital and a family member both tried to contact the doctor and he never returned anyone's call. I have never experienced such poor patient care from a doctor, and I have been a nurse for 25 years.

Dr. Hecht is a terrible doctor who doesn't communicate with patients or their families. Did surgery for a kidney stone on my dad. We weren't sure if they'd be able to blast the stone or just put in a stent. He never came to tell what he did, never rounded on my dad afterward to check to see how he was doing, and had the house doctor (who, when I inquired after the surgery, didn't even know what had been done) discharge him the next day, despite the fact that his urine was extremely bloody and he was weak. We made multiple attempts to speak with doctor Hecht directly, and he never got back to us or the nurses. He was made aware that we were waiting to speak with him after the surgery, and still no communication. I will leave and go to a different hospital before I will let Dr. Hecht take care of anyone that I care about. He's the absolute worst. Avoid him at all costs.

Dr Hecht has been my Urologist for more than thirty years. Dr Hecht has performed a number of surgeries on me that literally changed my life. He is thoughtful, patient, and explains things in a manner that is understandable.

Dr Hecht is both a good doctor as well as a kind man.
