Dr. Parkhurst earned his B.S. in Athletic Training at Michigan State University where he cared primarily for Football, Men’s Soccer, and Women’s Volleyball. Prior to attending medical school, he was the athletic trainer for the Women’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse teams at the University of Denver. His treatment philosophy focuses on taking the time to listen and educate patients while using shared decision making to discuss all options and select the most appropriate treatment together. Dr. Parkhurst values the patient’s role as a key member of the treatment team. His primary goal is to restore and improve function in athletes of all ages and all activity levels.
He and his wife moved to Traverse City with a tremendous love for the outdoors. They enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, snow shoeing, and training for triathlons.
