Dr. Duane Douglas Fitch, MD

I had a colonoscopy today and received excellent service. Dr. Fitch and all of the staff were very nice and professional. Dr. Fitch is a wonderful doctor. He has always provided excellent care to me and all of my family.

Everyone was so nice

I went in for a scheduled colonoscopy and arrived at the scheduled time of 7:15. My appointment was scheduled for 7:30 and I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for prep. When we arrived at 7:15, no one was there and the doors were not opened until exactly 7:30. I checked in and went back to undress and then was told I needed to get dressed and go have more blood drawn although my procedure was fixing to be underway. I went Monday, 4/6/15 to have blood work done due to I am on an anticoagulant, Coumadin. My blood work was high according to the associate I spoke with today and they had not contacted me in regards to my results prior to today. I asked the associate why they had not contacted me, her response was "I am just the messenger." We continued on with the process of going to get the blood work done since this procedure was extremely important to have due to my health. I spoke with another associate and asked for the reasoning behind going to get more blood work done and wanted to… know why no one took responsibility to contact me via my results and her exact words were "you fell through the cracks, so I am sorry." I furthermore asked what that meant and she said that my PT levels were high and no one had caught that information and that is why the second blood work was needed to be completed this morning prior to completing the procedure. After leaving the facility to get blood work done, I reported back to Wilson Digestive Diseases and asked the receptionist for my medical records and everything in my chart. I had a caregiver with me who was responsible for communicating on my behalf. I notified the receptionist, Monica Johnson that my permission to speak on my behalf as well as gain access to all my health records. The receptionist deliberately ignored me and chose to have confrontation with my caregiver allowing the patients in the waiting room to know I had just gotten blood work done and was waiting on my colonoscopy to be completed. The receptionist put her finger in my caregivers face and would not speak to her regarding my health although permission was granted. We then were escorted in the office manager's office and discussed the situation, and nothing was taken care of. We have the conversation recorded that the nurse did verbalize "you fell through the cracks." and that the receptionist handled the matter unprofessionally. This facility was not professional and due to the receptionist's confrontation with my caregiver, Dr. Fitch did not want to perform the procedure after the fact I performed the bowel prep and completed blood work twice. Unprofessional and disrespectful associates!

Dr. Fitch is amazing. He is kind and compassionate and knows his stuff. He diagnosed me with Ulcerative Colitis in 1994. Because of his expertise and guidance, I am going great. My family and I trust him completely!

Dr. Fitch is very kind, understanding and addresses all questions with sensitivity and support. He has been recommended countless times and is a real asset to the community. It is a little more difficult to see him (he's very busy), but the fact that he's busy and his waiting room is always full should tell you that he's good and people come back. If you don't have a serious issue, try getting an appointment with the PA. She's been working in gastroenterology for many years and is competent to solve more basic issues like irregular bowel habits and heartburn.

Dr. Fitch is an exceptional doctor. I have several gastrointestinal problems for which I am being treated. Dr. Fitch is one doctor who is patient, kind, and understanding. I feel that he gives me his undivided attention during any visit. He explains, in detail, what procedures I may need and doesn't hesitate to call in a specialist in another field if one is necessary. He is very knowledgeable and can be trusted.

Very Unsatisfied!!

Dr. doesnt seen to care, he is in the room for no more than 5 minutes and doesnt give a chance to ask questions. I think he is more about quantity than quality.
