Dr. Duane C Keller, DDS

This doctor will set your dental condition back ten years. I came to him for TMJ and decided to stay with him due to desperateness at the time. Later, did I realize that his specialty in TMJ is a fraud and that all he is, is a general dentist. He recommends a treatment plan that included orthodontics later but he isn't even certified to do so. He has no background in TMJ other than an article that he wrote based off one or two successful treatments. I also found out he has faced many lawsuits before due to malpractice and negligence and fraud.

The front desk and nurses have terrible attitudes towards customers and easily overcharge you for things you didn't do. If you make an appointment, that's $200 even if all the doctor does is talk to you for one minute. Doctor doesn't know what he's doing. Now I'm with a much better doctor and finding out many things Keller said were incorrect and unprofessional.

I only saw this dentist twice but his technician, or nurse, acted mean both times. He wasn't much better and if you're looking for a dentist who cares about you as a person, don't go to him. The prices kept changing and when I asked for the amount to be put in writing, no one would do that.

My family has seen Dr. Keller for TMJ treatment for years. Most recently, my son had horrible headaches and neck pain for months. He finally saw Dr. Keller in Oct 2019, who noticed things a normal dentist does not, like posture and the curvature of the cervical spine. With the help of his TMJ splint and regular PT, his pain is more manageable. The staff explained all expenses right up front, not the doctor. They were able to get me in same day for emergency appointments and were extremely caring. This is a really great group of people. From experience, I would warn readers to use caution when reading a review from someone with lots of exclamation points and one sided scenarios. My years of experience with this office is truly not reflected in the situations below. A single experience of not hearing what you want to hear does not equate to a fraud or inadequacy.

I had a consult with Dr. Keller to treat my TMJD – preferably by vertical tooth restoration/bonding of my molars which I had requested and had explained before the consult by e-mail. During the consult Dr. Keller was only repeating “I DO NOT KNOW, I do not know how to treat this kid.“ He was absolutely incapable to propose any medical idea how to treat my TMJD whose treatment he advertises or to answer any of my medical questions. He called “Dr. Julie“, a physical therapist, for help and he disappeared quickly. She recommended me only to visit a spinal (not TMJ maxillofacial!) surgeon. I was in shock that the consultation did not address my dental/occlusal problems at all! His assistant gave me a financial proposal for almost $5,000 covering two splints (for day and night) and she scheduled me for next appointment/exam to get them. She showed me only the lower one. When I contacted her that I want to also see the upper one before I pay for it, Dr. Keller suddenly cancelled my… appointment by e-mail. He only informed me that I should seek somebody else for the treatment. They refused to provide me the refund for the useless consultation of $206. My husband was present during the entire consultation as a key witness and saw his absolute incapability. The consult was an absolute waste of time and money. I consider Dr. Keller`s disrespectful behavior and lack of real knowledge as dental malpractice. I consider Dr. Keller’s behavior unethical because he charged $206 for a visit where I only learned the $5,000 price of the splints that he would later deny to provide. There are many dentists who pray on desperate TMJD patients. Unfortunately, he is one of them.

The staff seemed to force me to schedule an appointment and guaranteed that rescheduling is no hassle and no problem. Nearly immediately after scheduling I realized a conflict in my schedule and after rescheduling I was told there was a $25 fee for scheduling an appointment after "canceling". This shows he is all about the money.

I have been going to Dr. Duane Keller for almost 30 years, and have always been treated with exceptional care. His thirst for knowledge, and willingness to share that knowledge with others is one of his biggest attributes. He has helped me with general dentistry and a rather problematic TMJ issue for which I am now about 18 years 99% pain free. If he doesn't handle something 100%, he has someone to send you to, for which you will then be able to always follow up with him each time you go for your checkups. He keeps an eye on my progress and has helped me considerable in my quality of life. The staff is a professional yet lighthearted group of intelligent people who work as a team. While no one likes to get dental work done, they make it as gentle as possible. Dr. Tyler Musto has been a wonderful asset to the practice. He is very knowledgeable and fits right in with his pleasant bedside manner. Thank you to Dr. Keller and all his staff at Keller Professionals.

I travel out of my way to continue seeing Dr. Keller. He is trustworthy, ethical, and way better than any dentist I've ever been to! Everyone I've ever referred to his office has had nothing but excellent things to say about him as well!
