Dr. Duane Maurice Wooten, MD

I have NEVER in my 13+ years of being a medical professional or 30+ years of living received such disrespect from a physician, let alone a BLACK man. As a mother and FNP, I would caution those looking for a caring and understanding physician to steer clear of Dr. Wooten's practice. Dr. Wooten is condescending, disrespectful to anyone who challenges him, and possess a god-like complex. Dr. Wooten interjected my every word during our phone conversation and felt so challenged that he kicked my 1 year old son out of his practice and hung up the phone on me. Wow! What a professional! All because I called to update him on my son's health status post COVID infection. Beware parents! He's a wolf in sheepskin! He is kind and funny in the beginning, but will switch personalities quickly.

I knew him as a resident and after he got his practice in the 80’s. I see he hasn’t changed

We went to his office maybe once or twice and we never went back. Like others have said, he is very unprofessional and rude. He be-little's the parents and wants it to be known that he supposedly knows much more than us as new parents. One time we took my 2 1/2 month (she may have been 3 months...I can't remember) old daughter for a basic check up and he squeezed her nipple during the examination! I know she was still being breastfed so I guess the baby's can also produce as well? Who does that to a 2 1/2 month old baby though?! That really bothered my husband. We've never been back and looking at all these awful reviews looks like lots of other people don't think to highly of the man either.

He is very rude and demeaning and some people in his staff don't even know how to get an infants heart rate. Every single time I go Dr. Wooden and I get in a heated conversation. He doesn't trust anyone else not even Phoenix Children's Hospital.... Soooooo after hours when he's not available where am I supposed to take my children? He always bring up the fact that he has been doing this for 30 years but I'm sorry a doctor who is about their career and is good at what they do doesn't need to remind people how long he has been in the practice every chance he gets. I take my children there to get shots and that's IT. and even then I make sure the one who is giving the shots knows what the heck she is doing because some of them don't (and Dr. Wooden himself admits it)

I have 3 boys and a girl. First, I love that the nurse asked how my son was doing when I took his brother in for his wellness check. He was recently diagnosed with a blood disorder. Just the fact that she remembered means a lot to me. Secondly, Doctor Wooten eased my mind when I took my son to him regarding speech therapy and special needs. That's something I could not get with the school system. He listened to my husband's concern regarding my son and I feel confident that my son will get the appropriate care for his needs. Waiting to see the doctor is not a problem for me. I take my son, with the blood disorder, to the Phx children's hospital almost every week. We spend all day there sometimes.

Rude and very rude. He doesn't know how to appreciate the people who made him what he is Today! Dr Wooten you have a bad attitude and you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself. And you suck as a Dr! Real talk.

ridiculous wait time especially while having an infant, at least 45 minutes in a waiting room filled with sick children then to sit in a freezing exam room with a baby in a diaper is just unaccpetable!! Going on our third visit and still haven't met Dr. Wooten!

We've been with Dr. Wooten for 5 1/2 years, but unfortunately, we will be finding a new doctor. We are tired of the horrendous wait and over-booking.
