To fellow pain patients, you can understand the humiliation I just endured. Trying to hold back the tears. After losing my pain doc. to no fault of my own. I made an appointment w/ Dr. Kanura. I grew up in Highland-have a second home @ the beach, so in NWIN often. Yes I take narcotics. Yes the office said they do not write Rx when I made the appointment. I understand why they all do. All clinics due when you first call. Yes I understand the “Hoops” pain doctors require new patients to jump through. ONLY Never has an staff member spoken to me as if I was a drug addict/criminal denying medical care BEFORE even being seen by the doctor. Waiting room evaluations is a new one. I would not recommend this office. They are pretty cruel-I was told “I quote” I was treated that way because of PMS. Thank You for listening Mary Harms I can imagine a doctor offering alternatives to the Rx protocol I have been taking. I even saw a pain doctor who stated they do not write narcotics… Rx’s in my search to find a new doctor. He recommend injection (appointment is set) I did want a second opinion-why today’s appointment.

I have gone to Dr. Kanuru for several years. She has always taken her time to discuss my health. She also provides an option for my bio-identical hormones (non-synthetic) .My hormones are not the same as all other women..so by her providing this alternative method..testing my hormones yearly..I have what is needed for my body. I have been very pleased.

I would not recommend going to her unless you are the perfect weight on the BMI chart. Everyone I work with has gone to her at one time in their lives and this Dr has complained that they are too fat or too thin. The majority stopped going to her and the others, like myself, have stuck it out simply for convenience. She has told women "you will never have a healthy pregnancy at this weight" and those people have since had healthy babies with Dr's who have more respect than Durga. She stated there is no hope for me, I have no will power and that I need a special health center to get help at for weight loss. She was not interested in having a conversation with me, only to state her thoughts while staring at my body in disgust. I understand Dr's want people to be a healthy weight, but there is a way of going about things that is exactly the opposite of what she did to me at my visit. Humiliating! I think the only thing we agreed on was that it will not hurt her feelings if I go to a… different Dr. which I will happily be doing.

she is the BEST doctor to go to for pelvic exams, C sections and any kind of childbirth. shes had 2 csections herself so shes tender and gentle when its over. i wouldnt go to any other doctor for those 2 parts of life.
