Dr. Dusten Andrew Wessel, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Wessel since he came to Deaconess Gateway. He is a very caring and knowledgeable Dr. He listens to you and discusses treatment with you. He is overall a 5 star doctor.

He is always caring and listens mote than any other doctor. He is very smart and does his best for all his patients. He truly cares about you. Uplifting.

My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Wessel's. He has always been wonderful with us for several years. Can't remember ever having issues with the staff. We are so sad to see him leave. It's going to be hard to replace him :(

Dr Wessel is an amazing compassionate person his concern for his patients is genuine I’m am heartbroken to hear he’s leaving but I wish him the best

My husband & I both made contact to become patients of Dr. Wessel. I was not accepted but my husband was. Not sure what the criteria to be a patient is. Also he comes up on the web as accepting new patients, when I called I was told they were considering accepting new patients. Oh Well, Not meant to be.

Dr. Wessel is always very thorough. He listens to my concerns and always has a step by step plan for treatment . He's an excellent dr.

This dr is terrible! Dr Erdy was very kind and compassionate, when he left this young quick to judge jerk took over! Office is terrible! Front desk always has someone new. If you want to call good luck you can never get through or a call back! Tita is terrible and emotionless! She's not even a nurse! Rushes you in and out! This office is absolutely terrible! Different CNA on every visit, no nurse in sight. Pathetic!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Wessel for a few years now. He's always been very caring and easy to talk with. His previous nurse Billy we absolutely loved! She would always make sure my kids had samples of Tylenol or Advil after their immunizations, she always took time to explain vaccines before giving them, we loved her. Now I'm having a very difficult time getting my kids in for appts and the old phone nurse Tita is his main nurse. This really upset us because her attitude is awful and she is not comfortable giving shots. She always has to speak over me and she's just flat out rude. I've noticed a big change in Dr. Wessel in the past year, always seems rushed now and we can never get in. It may be time for my family to move on.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wessel for a year now. He has a great manner of communicating, and shows great concern. Another thing that I appreciate is that if he does not know about an issue, he knows who to refer me to. His staff and nurse educators are equally as friendly and compassionate. As someone mentioned there is a gap when it comes to trying to communicate with/through the phone nurse, so if info is needed to be communicated the best way is to make a face to face appointment.

Dr. Wessel has a nice demeanor. The one issue is that he is quick to prescribe meds, without discussing underlying issues. It may have been that he has been to rushed on my visits, but he quickly prescribes meds to deal with side effects of another medicine without listening to my experiences. Again this may be because of his schedule and being rushed. The major issue is that you often have to interact with his phone nurse 'Tita'. She does not represent the practice in a positive manner, and does a disservice. When calling in to discussing appointment to prescriptions she is very rude, speaks over your questions or concerns, and flat out does not listen...nor does she seem to care. The front desk staff are delightful, Dr. Wessel is a good doctor, but unfortunately this staff members terrible customer service and negative nature tends to overshadow the positive aspects of this office at Deaconess Gateway.
