About Us
Dr. Bhende has been practicing dentistry for over 13 years. He received his BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree from India. He went on to do a residency and then practiced in India before coming to the United States. He attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with Honors. He later attended New York University for training in Implant Dentistry. He received a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2003.
Dr. Bhende and his wife moved from New Jersey in 2006 to be closer to family and serve the Unifour Community. Dr. Bhende worked with Dr. Robinette for 4 years before deciding to start his own practice. This happened to be an excellent match as Dr. Hastings was getting ready to retire.
Dr. Bhende is always enthusiastically involved in the community. He has given free consultation and treatment to several patients in villages in India. He has volunteered for the ‘Special Olympics’ dental screening for …patients with special needs in 1998 and 1999 in Boston. He retired from the Army Reserves as a Captain after serving the country for 8 years. He has also volunteered for the Dental bus sponsored by the NC Baptists association to provide free dental treatment for underprivileged children and adults in Hickory and Lenoir. He also provides free dentistry at the Greater Hickory CCM on a regular basis.
Dr. Bhende will provide several additional services to the practice. He is proficient in placement and restoration of Dental Implants. He will also be doing cosmetic dentistry including Whitening, veneers, crown and Bridge, inlays and onlays. If you have loose fitting dentures or partials, he can provide economical implant solutions to improve the fit. Dr. Bhende will also bring Short term orthodontics to the practice. He is planning to keep the office open Monday to Friday, with a full day on Friday for your convenience. He is also very environmentally conscious and will strive to make the practice ‘Green’. He believes in recycling and reducing waste consumption.
Dr. Bhende resides in Hickory with his wife and three year old son. His wife is a Yoga instructor and gives free classes in the Hickory library in addition to teaching in the area studios. Together they support various charities like CCF, UNICEF, Genocide Intervention Network, Doctors without Borders and WWF.
