Dr. Earle Yoshito Oki, MD

I was recommended to go to Dr. Oki because I am considered high-risk being 40+ and expecting my 5th child. I went to my 20-week ultrasound. I understand that Doctors should offer options and I don’t mind that, but this doctor really pushed for me to do extra testing for the baby to test for any physical or mental problems and I told him that I didn’t want to because it wouldn’t affect my decision to have the baby or not, and he very rudely responded and continued to try to guilt me into the test. Then while doing the ultrasound they pointed out what they called “anomalies” and then in the same breath said that it was common to see these things in ultrasounds. They try to manipulate by fear. We just went for the follow-up visit with a second ultrasound, we drove from an hour away to come to our appointment, and our daughter wanted to come along with me and my husband. We walked into the appointment and immediately one of the office staff said rudely, “You’re not allowed to have… children here, she’ll have to leave or you’ll have to reschedule”. My husband said out loud, we aren’t driving back home an hour because you don’t want a child here. So they then said “Well she’s welcome to go wait outside then” as if we had an option to have an 8-year-old little girl sit by herself. I told them that wasn’t an option. Then they said “You can FaceTime the ultrasound with your husband and daughter while they sit in the car” and I told them that wasn’t an option either, I am hearing impaired and I rely on my husband to be there since the doctor still wears a mask and I can not read his lips. My husband then asked if our daughter could sit in the waiting room and they said “No we don’t let children in here because it high risk and children can bring germs into the office” (as if adults don’t!) “A few years ago someone’s child brought chickenpox, so the only way you can be seen is for her to not be here”. My husband just told them “That’s fine you can cancel her appointment and don’t even contact us to reschedule, we won’t be back.” Find somewhere else to get your ultrasounds done.

Several issues with this place. First, I received a phone call from Dr Oki to discuss a blood panel. He didn't have the results yet so there wasn't much to discuss. Several weeks later I received an undisclosed bill for this useless "phone consultation". Next my husband was unable to attend the anatomy scan because he was unvaccinated even though I wasn't either and sleep next to him every night. Third he didn't discuss ANY of his findings from the anatomy scan during the appointment and instead rambled about the vaccine the entire visit and got relatively political making assumption aboht or just not caring about my own personal opinions. It was very uncomfortable. Needless to say I canceled my follow-up and moved over to the high risk pregnancy center.

This doctor shames and guilts women. He has no compassion or empathy. He ordered an unnecessary procedure and you have to publicly sign a form in the waiting room if you don’t consent. Avoid this doctor.

2 months later and the money I have paid towards my office visit still isn't submitted correctly to my insurance. I paid and am not getting my money out towards my deductible for my insurance.

Dr. Oki just told my daughter that it's her fault that her baby possibly has a heart defect because she consumed alcohol before she knew she was pregnant. He never even gave her an ultra sound. Now my daughter is very upset because there is no proof of that. My oldest daughter lost her first born when he was 4 days old. 12 hours after being released from Saint Mary's where he was born, he was gone. He died from truncus arteriosus you would think a doctor would be a little more sensitive. I mean he didn't even look at the baby's heart and she was referred to him, biggest mistake she made was making that appointment which she was on time for but still had to wait 45 minutes to be told that. Now I hope we can get her into the Children's Heart Center Nevada. This doctor upset her so much that she doesn't ever want to go back to him or any other doctor that is going to make her feel that way. We are here now lets find out if this baby is going to be okay. My daughter is healthy,… she's at a healthy weight and so is the baby, we just wanted a doctor who was going to make sure his heart was okay. If you are at all sensitive or emotional during your pregnancy and you're referred to Dr. Oki I would twice about seeing him!

Dr Oki was excellent! Very informative and friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend him and trust him completely.

I read the reviews before I saw Dr. Oki, and I tried not to let the opinions of others influence my experience with him. I read reviews about his bed side manner etc. However, my experience with him has been very comforting. Those who have to see Dr Oki are already going into the appointment with unregulated emotions because it’s a very scary thing when you have to see a specialist for your baby. However, Dr Oki was polite, explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it, he was honest and truly educated us on the road we’re embarking on. His knowdlege and area of expertise is exquisite and brings us comfort during these uncertain times. He radiates calm energy and I love his demeanor.

Dr. Oki was very informative, making sure I was aware of all my options and understood the risks associated with each. The MA that drew my blood was awesome! The one bad thing was the wait over an hour

Dr Oki , soo smart. It's like having an appointment with Spock. His knowledge base is large and he's very scientific in his explanations. He's someone you can trust.
