Dr. Eddy S. Shea received his dental doctoral degree ( D.D.S.) from the University of Southern California in 1989. By 1990, his academic and clinical achievement was recognized by the NIH (National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, the highest medical and dental research institute in North America). He became the first Asian American young dentist to receive the honorable DSA (Dentist Scientist Award). There were about 2500 dental graduates nationwide each year in the early 90’ and only less than 20 young dentists were meticulously selected and financially supported by the NIH (National Institute of Health) for advance postdoctoral studies and training. Dr. Shea was considered one of the few elite promising young clinicians and academia at that time.
He then entered the graduate school and residency program at the University of Connecticut School of Dentistry and Department of Oral Biology and Function at Farmington Connecticut …in 1990.
Dr. Eddy S. Shea has been practicing all phases of dentistry for more than 22 years by now. He used to own two major dental offices in Orange County with more than four associate dentists and seventeen staff under his leadership. Over the years, he grew tremendous experiences and skills dealing with all kinds of dental treatment issues. He is very confident providing you and your family from a basic cleaning all the way to complicated and extensive dental work.
