Dr. Edgar Givens Gallagher Jr, MD

Dr. Gallagher made a stressful day absolutely terrible. After 45 minutes, I was called to the back. A nurse took my history, and told me to undress and gave me a paper vest and sheet to cover up in. TWO hours later, the doctor came in, without any apology whatsoever. The nurse did say she knew it had been two hours. The doctor was performing a rectal examination due to some bleeding with no known cause- and I am an otherwise healthy female in my early 30s. After gloving up, his phone rang- and he said 'It's probably my family' and took the call!!! He stepped out, after having moved the paper sheet for the exam. I covered up, but it was beyond undignified. He returned to say how it was his wife and she was helping his daughter move. Um- seriously? He then did the quick, painful exam and said 'no need for surgery.'. I asked the nurse later the cause of the bleeding. She tried tried to be helpful but sid she only knows what he said and to follow up in six weeks. I have not… received a call to schedule that appointment, but have decided I will never put myself through that again.
