Dr. Edgar Larry Ross, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ross for over a decade. I’ve some moderately serious neurological problems arising from a car accident and 15 surgeries some time ago. Dr. Ross is, far and away, the best. His knowledge of pain, how to ameliorate it, how pain affects day-to-day life and relationships, and new science and treatments is off-the-chart. He’s caring and has a wonderful beside manner coupled with a gentle but dry sense of humor. His students clearly look up to him. Before I saw him, sitting in a car for more than 20 minutes was almost impossible. Simple things such as being able to exercise were tremendous challenges. With remarkably little trial and no material error, he worked closely to develop a care plan that has liberated me. As for possibly saving my life, a quick anecdote: At our first visit, he raised a concern about a new issue and pain problem. I told him my PCP saw me and told me just to ice it and take a Motrin or three and it would go away. He… gently implored me to have an ultrasound study right away and his office arranged for me to be seen within the hour. I had an important meeting back at the office and promised him I’d deal with it when my schedule permitted. Without causing undue alarm, he told me it was important to rule out certain causes that could be serious albeit unlikely. Reluctantly, I cancelled my meeting and went for the ultrasound. The upshot: I had a blood clot requiring immediate attention. My PCP was absolutely wrong and the consequences of inaction could be dire and possibly even fatal. I can’t speak highly enough about this gem of a resource. Even in the Boston mega-hospital world, Dr. Ross is, in my opinion, the best of the many doctors I’ve seen over the years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ross over 20 years. He is compassionate, kind, knowledgable and extremely easy to talk to. Dr. Ross helped me when no one else could. I highly recommend him. He's an excellent health care provider.

I've been a chronic pain patient since 2994/95. I've been a PT of Dr. Ross since Jan 2012. I hope this Dr never retires. Great care, always listens an offers new ideas.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ross since 2002. He is very kind, compassionate and caring. He always has a good sense of humor.

His only concern is his patients comfort. He will do what it takes to reach that goal.

RUDE very RUDE had us wait in the room for over an hour while flirting with nurses what a joke! I was in serous pain which he could care less about . we left then called for a real doctor and still received the run around they gave us the name of another doctor that didn't exist. I don't get them my advise is stay clear.....

Dr. Ross is awesome, caring and easy to talk to. The entire staff is wonderful.

Dr Ross has gone above & beyond for me. I owe todays ability to be nearly pain free, to he & his wonderful staff! Dr Ross is only an email, phone call away! I am amazed that I can so easily communicate with him, versus my own pcp. Dr Ross has been an "answered prayer" in my life! And to those who love me most! Thank you Dr Ross...forever gratitude!!!

I feel at the Brigham you as a patient are nothing more than a number. Dr. Ross is so busy taking care of Princes and people in other countries patients be damned. All they do is push drugs down your throat. And they send in students to do there jobs. Its a joke

Dr. Ross has been my Doctor for over 3 years at BWH Pain Management Center. He is easy to reach via Email, he is always there and has been through thick and thin. No matter what he never given up on me when other Drs had he did. He is exstremely through in all matters concerning pain control, and because of Dr. Edgar Ross I have gotten my life back to where I am able to do my daily routine and before I could not. When I first started seeing him I couldnt get out of bed for more than making dinner for my family since he has given me my life back and for that I am truely grateful! In my opinion you couldn't find a better Doctor if you tried.
