Dr. Edmund Webster Cornman, MD

My Wife and I found Dr. Cornman one of the best specialist we have had to work with. For some reason he left Colonial Heights, VA, and I see no longer accepts BCBS, so it looks like we will have to remain with the new doctor assigned to us at Colonial Heights. I just hope this was not due to politics.

When I went to Dr. Cornman I had been suffering with severe fatigue, pain, and mood issues for 14 years, (previously diagnosed with sleep apnea, fibromyalgia and biplar disorder) and had been to neurologists, rheumatologists, psychiatrists, you name it. The medical issues I contended with had become so debilitating that it made it impossible for me to continue practicing as an RN. I had already had 4 sleep studies prior to seeing Dr. Cornman, but Dr. Cornman not only took the time to do a thorough assessment, he also really listened to me and took the time to review the rather large and detailed record which I presented. He came to understand that I was not depressed so much as beginning to despair of ever having any quality of life again. He diagnosed narcolepsy and instituted appropriate treatment for it, and I quite literally credit him with restoring hope to me after years of endless tests and doctor visits which missed the mark. He has acute analytical focus, excellent… diagnostic instincts and a rare balance of compassion and professionalism. Sometimes when a patient has had multiple and sustained problems, we can have difficulty recognizing what symptoms are significant and relevent, and what is incidental. He has a way of cutting through all of that where many phyaicians would not bother to sort through it all, while taking the "whole patient" into consideration. I highly recommend Dr. Cornman. He has a gift that is rarely found in modern practice of the art of medicine any more.

Dr. Cornman is the real thing. He "Cares" about his patients. He listens, He Feels, He understands. He is not in the hurry that most doctors are in now to get to the next patient. He wants to help his patients, He is helping me.
