Dr. Edmund William Schumacher, MD

I have seen Dr. Shumaker twice, and love him. He is easy to talk to, clearly knows what he's doing, and I am the better for it. I would recommend him to anyone.

I can't imagine a more caring and thorough doctor as Dr. Schumacher. It is no stretch to say that he completely changed my life by repairing damage to my overused feet that have been through years of road and off-road running and cycling. He did that in a very thoughtful and methodical way, using the least invasive methods, with careful follow-up. David, his office manager, runs his practice like a clock. I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room and all my insurance and other paperwork was processed effortlessly. Uber-professional practice, with a highly personal touch and caring team.

I was being treated by this "Dr" for many years and receiving cortisone injections in both my feet for pain. While under treatment I developed what he diagnosed as a "bursa" in my heel. I was receiving PT for a knee replacement at the time and my physical therapist finally took at look at the bursa and urged me to speak with him again because she was almost certain it was not a bursa. When I did, he brushed her comments off and said he had seen enough bursa to know better. Unfortunately for me, HE WAS WRONG. It was not a bursa. It was bone calcification on my heel. The high number of shots he gave me on both my toes and in the "bursa" finally caused enough damage to my joint and cartilage for my tendon to rupture. Spectacularly! Thankfully, I was out of the state at the time and got the opinion of another orthopedic dr. who told me in no uncertain terms not to go back to Schumacher. The surgeon who operated on my tendon could not imagine how such an extreme case of… calcification could have been missed. Spare yourself more pain, damage and suffering and see another dr.

After a routine visit for ankle pain Dr Schumacher injected massive amounts of cortisone to relieve the pain...but it eroded my Achilles tendon and caused it to rupture resulting in my inability to walk for the past 2 years!! Even after surgery I have no hope of recovering more than 50%! Thanks you idiot!
