*****URGENT***** I'm shocked by all of the positive reviews... I received an epidural injection for lower back pain from Dr. Vaynberg over a year ago, and that injection put me in unimaginable chronic pain. I honestly want my life to end. I'm in pain every single day now. He, along with other doctors/specialists, will tell you that it's impossible for this to happen. I've also had massive changes to my immune system. I'm losing hair, my skin is extra dry, and my fingernails have horizontal lines running through them. What's even worse is that I have zero energy and feel horrible. I'm essentially bedridden. I can't take care of myself or do any activities with my children like before. This is hard to imagine considering that throughout the years, I've been so strong and independent. Again, they will tell you that these symptoms can not possibly be from a single cortisone injection. They will tell you to check your mental health and prescribe you medication accordingly. I could not… disagree with this assessment enough. They will make it seem like you're crazy, give you a mean attitude, and eventually, they will kick you to the curb - they will blacklist you! The doctors that you trusted and shared a bond with will dissappear faster than a magic trick. So basically, you will be left all alone trying to figure out what the issue is. Why you no longer have energy, can't take care of yourself, do activities with your family, can't cook, can't clean, shave, etc. My life truly feels over. I would absolutely NOT recommend getting an injection at Boston Medical Center or from Dr. Vaynberg. Continue doing things like physical therapy, applying ice and heat, self-massage, etc. Trust me, it's not worth the risk. I got bad advice from my former PCP who convinced me to get the injection and who i trusted, and now I am stuck all alone trying to figure this out with no resources. It's an absolute nightmare. I feel terrible for my children because they really don't have a Dad anymore. Just some guy who lays in bed all day with no answers in sight. I did everything the doctors asked me to do, and still, unfortunately, no progress has been made. My hands and feet went numb after the epidural, and they are trying to tell me that it's impossible for this to happen and that the cause is anxiety, which is absolutely ridiculous. My hands and feet still go numb til this day! It's obviously nerve-related. Also, I went in with lower left back pain and came out with extreme tailbone pain and lower right side back pain. On top of that, i think that the cortisone was tainted because i honestly feel like i was POISONED. He said it was a small dose, but it absolutely did not feel that way. DO NOT trust this guy. He's a shady snake oil salesman - a liar and a fraud. On my last follow-up with him, he gave me an attitude and had the balls to tell me that "correlation is not causation" when clearly, in this case, it is. He also said that he "can't control" where the fluid goes. Unbelievable! They DO NOT care about you or your well-being. You're just another number - a big sack of blood. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY. All it takes is one bad injection to ruin your life completely.

Excellent patient rapport. Took time to explain reasons for my symptoms in a very friendly and patient manner. Ample time to ask questions. Obviously cares about his patients. He explained options thoroughly: Office is immaculate.staff is very friendly.everyone speaksore than one language. I would recommend him to everyone.

I saw others for cortisone injections (after MRI) and never once had relief on the first shot and they seemed to want you to come back for more shots to make more money, period. Or maybe they were simply INEPT. Interestingly, I got enormous relief with ONE injection only from Dr. Vaynberg in three different areas over time. I never had to return for second shot because he apparently knows what he's doing the first time! Also has a wonderful caring attitude. Too bad Union Hospital in Lynn is not longer one of his locations. But if I ever need another injection, I'll travel to Boston to see him because there is no one on the North Shore I'd trust.

Dr. Vaynberg is the 2nd pain mgmt. specialist I've used and is by far the best. I've been working with him for over 3 years at the Boston Medical Center and he is a phenomenal doctor who is very caring and has an excellent bedside manner with all of his patients. His staff adores him and you can observe this in action when he treats you. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking relief from a chronic pain problem.

I went to Dr. Vaynberg @ BMC after sustaining a bad back injury in 2009 & have been going to see him ever since for periodic pain management treatments. Initially, I only went to the BMC because it was the better of 2 choices my HMO offered me. The staff is super courteous, efficient and caring & the place is immaculate and looks fairly new. Dr. Vaynberg & his team are a caring bunch, who work well together, are super efficient and do a great job. One of the things I like about going there is that he & his skilled team get along really well & enjoy working together - there's none of that tension you sometimes pick up at other medical offices. He doesn't push surgery & he makes my pain treatments as painless as possible. He is a caring, talented physician/surgeon & I am so grateful to be his patient. I highly recommend him & his team to everyone who seeks relief from chronic pain.
