First virtual visit over zoom was ok, just talked about my depression and anxiety, asked me questions on a scoring matrix, submitted for me to have time off of work and prescribed medication and kept telling me to surround myself with family because that’s positive. The follow up was just an 8 minute phone call, 3 of the 8 minutes was talking to his secretary. This was on a Friday afternoon, and the secretary even called me 2 hours before out of no where to see if we could do the session right there and then! I felt he was trying to get out of the office early especially since it was a holiday weekend. He straight up asked me if I wasn’t depressed anymore and I started to tell him how I was feeling then he cut me off and asked about the medication and that was that. Didn’t ask about how I was feeling during my time since our last session and that was it. I lost my grandmother a few days before the call and it hit me hard. I brought it up and all he said was “uh I’m sorry” and that was… that. I brought up that I felt that I’m not ready to go back to work yet and he told me it was unnecessary to give me more time off, yet he took no time to even ask me how I was doing. So how he determined that information is beyond me. He just prescribed me more medication and handed the phone to his secretary to book me for another follow up appointment in a month. I wrote an email a few days later and told them I was disappointed in the last session and they needed to cancel my follow up, since I felt completely rushed and blew off. They didn’t have a problem asking for my copay for both sessions though. They also couldn’t email me back to confirm my appointment was canceled, I had to call today to make sure so they don’t try to bill me for a third session.
