2 months ago my husband and I tried to be proactive in getting his prescriptions with backup refills. Every patient knows you can't stop taking medicine abruptly. This doctor and his neglect to follow through with the promise for my husband who is waiting for to lung transplants and a liver transplant needs his medication. He's called the VA every day since last week. We keep getting told a nurse will call us back and that never happens. His system is doing without medication that the VA put him on years ago. Now I have to worry about withdrawals. My next step is to go to the media to get refills for the drugs my husband needs.

Like many physicians, due to implied threats by the CDC Dr Vasquez has abandoned evidence base medicine that improves patient's quality of life. There is NO scientific basis for MME maximums or forced tapers. These actions are not supported by FDA approved product literature and are not in the patient's best interest. He's a great doctor who has been intimidated to become less than great.

After my first appointment, I needed to speak with the doctor regarding my pain, which was not quite under control. I left a message and NEVER heard back from anyone. (luckily I had meds prescribed by another physician) I also needed and MRI and a week later, I attempted to get a hold of the person (Adam) who was in charge of obtaining authorization. I left three messages and never heard back from him. I spoke with the "manager" (Sandra) who also did not return my call as well. I had to call her back, just to be informed that the insurance denied the MRI because it was not "medically necessary" but the Adam was going to resubmit and get it covered under the "plan"... which makes no sense to me. This office lacks urgency, care, and empathy. I am able to voice my concerns, but I really am concerned for the elderly who don't know any better. Shame on these people! They definitely DO NOT belong in the healthcare field! Needless to say, I am actively looking for another pain… management physician
