Dr. Edward Van Becker, MD

Dr. Becker is the best dermatologist I have seen. He is an expert on skin conditions and is totally honest with his patients about what needs to be done for each skin issue. I feel that he genuinely cares for his patients and I know that he works extremely hard to see as many patients as he can which I think is very rare these days. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment with him you will see what I mean. He is the best!

Bad experience. Was recommended by my treating physician for a dark spot on my head. I was seen by his nurse practicor who told me it was nothing and basically an age spot. I got a second opinion and had a biopsy done. It turned out to be cancerous. I do not recommend Dr. Beckers office and will never return. I would like a refund of my $50.00 copayment.

I am only writing this about the front office staff at Becker's office. I have zero confidence in them. I was awaiting test results that I was told would be available in 7-10 business days. On the 13th business day I still had not received a call (which I was told they would if it was Malignant) & the results were not available via the online or phone system (which are posted if they are Benign). A woman at the office told me she would call UCSF (where the labs are sent) to get info & call me back the same day. She did not call - I had to call back. I was told by a different woman that the results were Benign. I asked why then were they not posted online / available via the phone system. She told me they are only there if they are MALIGNANT - which is the opposite of the truth. I called back & she corrected herself, yet the results are not posted. I have no confidence that my results are accurate, seeing that the woman who told me also gave me totally inaccurate information.

Trying to get an appointment w/this Dr. is achallenge. Fifteen minutes on hold and then rudely talked to. He need front desk help.

Dr. Becker quickly diagnosed a bump on my scalp (nothing to worry about) and then froze two spots on my face. He saw me right on time. It was a very efficient appointment!
