I had gone thru various avenues of doctors and treatments . After years of debilitating pain that limited my livelihood , I was referred to Dr. Edward Carden. I was finally diagnosed with CRPS . With his treatments , my outlook towards life has immensely improved. For those of us who suffer in pain , you can regain your quality of life with Dr. Cardens professional, compassionate expertise .

Too old, too concerned about personal life instead of his patients

Kind of excentric. But a genius when it comes to treating pain. He took the rsd pain in my left arm totally away. And for that I will always be grateful! Just wish he took my insurance so I could continue going to him.

Not interested in Medicine any longer. More concerned with his personal life. Retire!

I will agree with the procedure happiness comments of a few other patients. I was 10 years old (29 now) when some of the procedures began...and the first two he insisted on doing with local anesthesia, and it was a very traumatizing event for a 10 year old (nerve blocks in spine) we completed the first 6 nerve blocks out of a cycle of 8. On the seventh my vocal cords were paralyzed( for 2 weeks, better now) and the decision to continue with further procedures was abandoned. So I strongly suggest making an informed an intelligent decision in seeing this dr. Also he seemed very concerned about figuring out the issue to write about it in a medical book. Please make an informed decision before seeing

I was referred to Dr. Carden after having the worst experience I could every imagine with (no name) in Long Beach. Dr. Carden was very professional with a bedside manor I would expect from a Professional. He was very straightforward, explained what we needed to do and did it. The fellow before him, ( I wish I could say the name) couldn't even get the needle in. And I had to say stop !! Because of the pain. My condition was not one that the epidural could treat and he recommended surgery. I got a 2nd opinion and they concurred with Dr. Cardon. He gave me the name of a Surgon he liked, I did my research and went for it. One week and 2 days ago I was unable to walk or stand for more than 5 or 10 minutes because of the pain. Today I can and I am very thankful to Dr Cardon for what he did and who he is. I'm not brand new yet but expect a full recovery in the next few weeks. It's only been a little over a week. Thank you Dr. Cardon for your help and direction.

After other doctors had tried, Doctor Carden took the time to discover the cause of my wifes pain and come up with different courses of action . Good doctor better care giver.

I've been seeing Doctor Carden since 2011; first as a pain doctor and now as a "nerve doctor". I had 33 surgeries on my leg in this time and most doctors weren't up for the challenge of helping me through all the surgeries. Dr. Carden has been there to help me through good times and bad. He is excellent at managing pain, very kind and will listen to you when you are suffering. When I decided it was time to get off all my medication, he coached me and helped me successfully reach my goal! So now I no longer see him for pain management, but as a "nerve doctor" to help manage the nerve damage in my foot. He's an extremely smart physician, often times brainstorming and making calls to colleagues to try to figure out how to treat complicated issues. When I developed a large ulcer on my foot, he started me on oxygen therapy, greatly increasing my healing time. Now I'm getting nerve blocks to assist in physical therapy treatment. Dr. Carden must be amazing at playing darts, because… he hits the spot practically with his eyes closed. In addition to the blocks, he started treatment to actually help heal my damaged nerve. Sure enough its working! This physician is a brilliant doctor and has has bettered my life. I never thought I would find a pain/nerve doctor I actually look forward to visiting.

From the moment he entered the room, Dr. Carden was extremely warm and attentive, but in a very kind, genuine way. He spent almost an hour with me and had excellent knowledge and feedback in regards to my existing condition. I never once got an air of aloofness or sarcasm. He was a gentlemen and very courteous to his staff as well. I've seen him twice since our initial encounter and my experiences have been consistently exceptional! I'm VERY pleased to have found this fine doctor and will conclude my review by advising that rather than take my word for it, go see Dr. Carden yourself. He is a breath of fresh air and I HIGHLY recommend him.
