Dr. Edward L Cattau JR., MD

Writing this for my elderly family member. After years of suffering with a daily GI problem, Dr. Cattau was the only doctor who correctly diagnosed the patient’s condition and prescribed successful treatment. Patient had consulted several respected physicians including 2 other GI doctors who all offered misdiagnoses. Because of Dr Cattau’s astuteness, I am scheduled to see him soon as a patient myself.

Very professional at first visit and put me at ease. Don't really like the outpatient centers (anywhere) because they are all a HIPPA violation. Where else do you tell your name, meds, and history behind a curtain with a room full of other people!? Not his fault tho. His staff was also kind and overall it was better than most medical office experiences I have had.

Dr. Cattau is the best in Memphis as far as I am concerned. I have used him since the 1980's. Before coming to Memphis, he was President Reagan's doctor; he operated on the President to remove some polyps. I highly recommend him and his wonderful staff to anyone.

Terrible experience. I was subjected to the Colonoscopy twice in 2 days due to a slow digestive system. During procedure prep I was questioned by the nurse about the clearness of my bowel movements. I was very clear in my concern that I was not. I'm not sure if it was lack of communication between the nurse and Dr. Cattau, or greed by the doctor and or clinic. I am a very thin 50+ adult going in for my first colonoscopy. Due to my thinness, 3 days without solids and 2 days without food or water took a toll on my body. I cried when he told me I needed to go thru all the day before prep and no food again. There was no compassion whats so ever. By NO one in their facility. The next day my Husband had to carry me into the office because I was so weak and dehydrated. I was observed being carried in and NO ONE came out to help. My Husband had to insist I be taken back to a bed immediately. At his insistence a nurse finally came out and helped me back into the prep area and a… bed. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy, let alone friends or family.
