I was very disappointed with my visit to Dr. Decter, even though he was highly recemmended as an excellent surgeon. When I went into his office for a sprained ankle, he barely looked at my ankle and told me that I needed surgery. It was not until I went back for a second visit to his office to get more information about the surgery, that he told me that I might want to get a second opinion. I did just that and went to NYC to see an orthopedic doctor that specializes in the foot and ankle. That doctor knew right away that surgery was not necessary and instead did a cortisone injection that got rid of 99% of the remaining pain I was experiencing. Dr. Decter might be an excellent surgeon, but he is too quick to cut. I would suggest getting a second opinion before having surgery.

I had a severe knee injury..other doctors gave me very limited hope. other doctors said their goal was to get me walking again. Dr. Decter fixed my knee so well that I am no able to ski again.

Concern for me after surgery sent me to the hospital to check for a DVT. Luckily I did not have one. Doctor made sure I had an appointment and persisted in getting me there immediately. I have fully recovered and back to all of my normal and exercise routines.
