Charges for things he didn't do during the surgery, double charges, and overcharges. Read other Yelp reviews (some in the grayed out unrecommended section) for other patients who had the same experience.

I made an appointment with Dr. Diao for a problem I was having with my pinky finger. He and his staff were very friendly, the office ambience was pleasant, and Dr. Diao seemed knowledgeable and showed a concern for helping me get my finger back to looking and functioning normally again. I would recommend this doctor.

Dr. Diao did surgery on both my hands afflicted with carpal tunnel syndrome. I had gone though years of pain, and temporary solutions. It was really hard to get into see him and that would be my only complaint. He did an excellent job and I can quilt again!

Please save yourself serious disappointment and find another hand surgeon in San Francisco. My experience was awful. Unprofessional and highway robbery are two terms which predominate my feeling about this doctor.There were two doctors my primary care physician initially recommended for my wrist injury; Dr. Edward Diao and Dr. Richard Sherwood. I went to Dr. Diao first simply because his office was physically closer. Huge mistake.After my initial visit and the subsequent $750 consultation for a five minute tops visit (during which he stepped out to take a personal call I might add), I couldn't go back. Went to Dr. Sherwood subsequently and he was AWESOME. Could not have been more than night and day between these two doctors. Please, please trust these reviews. I honestly wish I had checked first.
