Dr. Edward Eden, MD

Dr. Eden is what every physician should aspire to become and what every patient should receive when they have a medical appointment. His bedside manner is courteous, patient, respectful, and warm to the patient and family member. He reviews any medical documentation you bring to the appointment prior to coming into the examination room, which is a priceless clinical practice. He gives the patient ample time to explain their symptoms or concerns. He then asks a few symptom questions and then presents in lay terms what his diagnostic impression is and recommendations. The patient education that he provides to his patients is outstanding. I am thrilled that he is also involved in educating and training medical students, interns, residents, and fellows. He has renewed my faith in the medical profession. Thank you Dr. Eden!!

While Dr. Eden definitely knows what he is doing, his empathy and active listening need improvement. He pushes inhalers too much. He can appear as arrogant and forceful and could intimidate a shy patient.

I went to see him because I had had multiple bronchial infections and pneumonia over the past few years that had become more frequent. I sought him out specifically to have my lungs further checked as I was very concerned. At the time, I was not sick and he sent me home saying everything was fine and to come in if I started coughing agian. He had no sense of urgency. Seven moths later I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer!! Dr Eden, should have offered me a chest x-ray to start which would have showed my tumor. He had no concerns. Being that I am only 53 and a non smoker, I was not considered high risk, however with my medical record which he had access to and the fact that he didn't take my concerns seriously when I sought him out exactly for that reason is a travesty. Had my cancer been found 7 months earlier it may have been curable, now it's just treatable. I'm so saddened by this, and hope no-one ever goes to see him again...I wouldn't risk my life!

Dr. Eden was not attentive to my condition. I have Lung Disease and I spent one year with Dr. Eden and he did nothing to help me. He never gave my condition the high priority it deserved. On top of this his office staff is rude and incompetent,. because of their delays and mistakes I have had great difficulty trying to get the treatment I required. Also, wait times are very long to see the dr. I would show up early and wait at least 1 hour PAST my scheduled appointment. I will be lodging a complaint with Mt. Sinai.

An exceptional physician; not just a clinician !
