Dr. Edward Philip Entmacher, MD

I was forced to return to dr Entmacher because I could not find a replacement psychiatrist and I needed medicine. Part of the problems I was having with dr Entmacher were because I was confusing him with my father. Dr Entmacher revealed some personal information which convinced me that he is the complete opposite of my terrible father and that he has personal experience which puts us in a more harmonious position. Dr Entmacher is now kind, amazingly open minded and non judgmental. He has come up with some unusual medications that help me and our therapy relationship is now very good.

Difficult relationship from the start. I found him cold and unsympathetic and felt like I was there to make him feel like a really great psychiatrist, my needs did not enter into it. When, after a year I found a psychiatrist closer to home he dumped me, leaving me for a month without a psychiatrist. He also canceled my prescription for sleeping medicine, leaving me 15 days without medicine knowing that I can not sleep without it.

Dr Entmacher is a wonderful physician who takes the Hippocratic Oath to heart. He has his own private practice, but also volunteers his time for the local community (free) health clinic two mornings a week. That is where I see him. I have made sure to keep ahold of my own medical records, as I believe in patients' own self-help responsibility; once Dr Entmacher saw my previous doctor's notes and charts, he was happy to keep providing me with the standard of care I had once been used to (before I lost my insurance). He doesn't have a pretentious attitude, is easy to talk to, and is obviously knowledgeable and up-to-date in his field. I honestly don't understand why Dr Entmacher doesn't have a higher rating at h**lthgrades.com, other than he is NOT a pill-pusher. Addicts looking to doctor-shop, please go elsewhere. Patients with a legitimate diagnosis who do not abuse your medication, and are honestly willing, trying, and able to help yourselves: Dr Entmacher has earned an A+ in my book!

Yes, I would reccomend him,he took the time to talk to me,and didn't judge me,helped me alot with my depression and death ofmy Mother!
