Dr. Galena was incredibly condescending towards me at my visit. I expressed concern for certain health issues and he brushed them away and made me feel stupid and belittled. I can't imagine why anybody would ever bring their children to him.

I’ve been a patient at this practice since I was a baby and I’ve never ever felt so belittled like I did with Dr. Galena. I saw him for an emergency sick appointment and when I went in he was extremely rude, intimidating, and condescending. At this point, I will probably no longer need to see a pediatrician but I know for a fact that I will never see him as my doctor again no matter the circumstances. I’m not sure if he spoke to me the way he did because of my age or whatever the reason, but it was not appropriate nor was it appreciated. I left the office I furiated because of his words and just couldn’t believe that this man treats children. I’m just glad I wasn’t the only one who felt this way about him after leaving his office.

We went to Dr. Galena for a sick visit. We called his office in the morning and were able to be seen that morning even though a Saturday. The office was really busy but Dr. Galena took time to provide the care needed. I felt like everyone in the office was real helpful to make sure my child was well taken care of and I appreciated this very much.

Absolutely horrible. He knows his stuff, but would continually interrupt when I tried to share my concern as a parent. No respect for a differing opinion, and dressed me down in front of my 12 year old son. Condescending, insulting, and quick to jump to worst-case scenarios. I left in tears. We are changing practices.

A year ago I would have said STAY AWAY. We have been going to Dr Galena for over ten years for his expertise, not his bedside manner. In fact, that was the exact reason for any dislikes over the past few years. However, he has gone through some sort of transition where he genuinely appears to care about his patients, is taking a different approach to explaining things to parents that doesn't make us feel inadequate or dumb, and have (in my opinion) moved up my scale of ratings. I am very grateful for all the care he has provided for my children.

My husband and I really like Dr. Galena's approach, he has a sophisticated sense of humor that many parents may not "get" or understand. As a first time mom, I appreciate the honesty of "what to worry about" & "no big deal" feedback during the visit. I prefer to ONLY see him.

I do not normally see E.Galena, but ended up being scheduled with him twice- once for a sick visit and the other for a weight check with the same daughter. His absolutely horrible tact and lack of social graces or empathy were evident in both appointments. At the first one, my 8 month old had her first stomach bug. As a first time parent at the time, I was scared and nervous and was hoping for some useful feedback. His approach was to scare (asked if I wanted my daughter hospitalized because of dehydration and literally this comment came out of nowhere) and treated me with such disrespect it was so condescending. The second time I saw him, I had no idea that I was seeing him until he came in the room- at which point it was too late to leave- my daughter had already been weighed by the nurse and we were waiting for our regular doctor. Again, used his terrible scare tactic and it was evident that he had no idea of my daughter's developmental or physical history, made comments that were… so unprofessional and inappropriate- I was left speechless and completely taken aback. He used the words 'malnutrition and mental retardation' in the same sentence for a perfectly healthy little girl who achieved all milestones very early but didn't weigh what a 15 month old should weigh. She has always been, and continues to be, in the lower percentage for weight so I was so disgusted that this so called doctor would ever use that language. As a former special educator and administer and as a parent, this experience left me doubting the professionalism of the entire facility. I have had good experiences with the other doctors and some of the nurses, but I will never again see Edward Galena. I think that my review mildly describes the way I feel about his complete lack of professionalism, disgusting bedside manner and his overall patronizing attitude towards the parents.

Sadly Dr. Galena was my first experience with the practice, just for a regular checkup for my daughter. The visit was horrifying, he was rude and disrespectful. I've had many doctors were I can converse about my views and listen to their advice without feeling belittled, this doctor has no tact towards people and the tension and confrontation made my daughter very upset. I still visit the practice, but I've never again been to Dr. Galena and I wouldn't go to see him even if it was an emergency because I don't like the way he treats parents and some of the things he said make me not trust his medical opinion. My favorite from the practice so far is Dr. Yarnoff and Dr. Jeyaraj. They're excellent doctors, the visits are pleasant and everytime my daughter has been sick, the diagnose and the treatment was perfect.

I have a son with a vary complicated condition. He sees many specialists. My first visit with Dr. Galena was several years ago. He took the time to get to know my son and his condition. He was able to explain things to me that the other doctors in his practice were not able to do. He have been going back to Dr. Galena for years since and have not had any complaints. He is great with my son, who actually looks forward to our visits with Dr. Galena.Not sure what your experience was about and hope that your child is ok, but your experience was very different from ours.
