Dr. Edward A Gumm, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Ed and Nancy Gumm for a long time. He and his wife Nancy have provided quality care, prescribed medications and testing as needed, and referred me to specialists as necessary. I am quite pleased with Dr. Gumm and his friendly, courteous staff.

A friend recommended Dr. Gumm to my husband. I was impressed by how thorough he was. I decided to try him out. I went for a physical routine blood work. I was very impressed. I liked him so much I told everyone about him. A couple people I work with are going to try him out as well.

The staff is friendly and getting an appt to interview Dr. Gumm was easy - that should have been the first warning sign. If he was a popular doctor, he would have been heavily booked. Anyway, Dr. Gumm's professional approach and bedside manner were HORRIBLE. I am disbled and new to the area, so I need a good doctor. He began by accusing me of being an addict, b/c I take class 3 medications as prescribed by my neuro. He also accused me of lying to him about another matter. At first, I cried during the visit - for obvious reasons. Then I stood up for myself by politely telling him he lacked professionalism, and would NEVER be my doctor. I then informed my insurance company, referring physician/ friend, my other specialist in the same building, AND YOU GUYS. Dr. Gumm does not understand insurance/ MD agreements nor does he understand that a disabled patient must see multiple specialists not be "doctor hopping" or "drug shopping". Dr. Gumm is unaware. When I made tbe appt., I told the… receptionist this was an ' interview' and I asked whether Dr. Gumm took disabled patients (she said yes). I MAY HIRE LEGAL HELP DEPENDING...ut
