Dr. Edward S Lane JR.

Dr. Lane is a native Memphian. Following his graduation from Christian Brothers High School, he received his B.S. Degree from then Memphis State University. Dr. Lane then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. While in dental school he served as student government president for the College of Dentistry. He was also an inaugural inductee into the IMHOTEP honor society. Upon graduation, Dr. Lane was awarded the Pierre Fauchard Leadership award. Dr. Lane then completed his residency in periodontics from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Returning to Memphis, Dr. Lane then joined his father in practice at The Memphis Periodontal Group. Dr. Lane Sr. was a founding member of The Memphis Periodontal Group, which is the longest established periodontal practice in the area. Dr. Lane has been in private practice since joining the office and also spent ten years as a faculty member in the Department of Periodontics at the …University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.

Dr. Lane is a member of the Memphis Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, International College of Oral Implantology, and the National Osteology Society.

Dr. Lane has been an active member of the Memphis Dental Society having served on numerous committees and served as Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and President. He was awarded the Jack Wells Outstanding New Member Award.

As a result of Dr. Lane’s participation in several foreign mission trips to Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, he received the Tennessee Dental Association’s Volunteer Service Award. Dr. Lane has also received the Fellowship Award from the Tennessee Dental Association which is one of it’s highest honors awarded by the Tennessee Dental Association.
