Dr. Edward Palmer Laurance, MD

This is the absolute worst doctor staff ever. All this doctor and his staff care about is $$$$$$$ they do not care to actually help their patients. I called and asked for a refill the pharmacy called me Friday afternoon to let me know that the doctor hasn't authorized two of the medications when it's the same medication he's been taking for a year now. The doctor's staff was extremely rude and condescending and super inappropriate when I asked to speak to the doctor and told them I would pay for the medication myself until my doctors visit. I asked the office staff why they didn't inform me initially that the doctor would not be able to authorize the Medication until his appointment and they had no answer to provide me. Now it's Friday afternoon and I am unable to go see another doctor for my sons severe pain until Monday. This office staff was so unprofessional rude they were laughing and hung up on me then proceeded to call me with a private number when the person I spoke to over… the phone told me there was no other person there I could speak to which was a lie. I urge everyone to never go to this place and to just stay away . His office staff is horrendous & horrible people & they have no patience care empathy. They only care about the money.

I took my daughter there for constipation and diarrhea hoping to get some answers. I found that Dr. Laurance was not a very good listener and was argumentative in his questioning as if I don't know what I'm seeing from the child I'm raising. He recommended I put her back on formula even though she is more than a year old. Just unheard of! Especially for a child who is already dealing with constipation... Everyone knows that formula causes constipation. He was only concerned with treating her symptoms rather than getting to the root of the issue. The day before we were to return for another appointment after getting labs done, we were called and told that we were not a good fit and to find another GI. I was told that "he sees more than 30 patients per day" and doesn't have time to spend on our child.

I'm not sure who these parents are talking about but Dr. Laurance is very kind and explains everything.... He has been a understanding doctor for us.. The staff is courteous as well.... :)

I found the staff to be courteous and attentive. The office is so-so. The waiting room is hot and uncomfortable. I was not impressed with Dr. Laurance. He needs to work on his bedside manner. He seems rushed and annoyed when asking him questions. I'll be finding a new gastro doctor for my child.

As "appalled" mentioned in his/her review. I had a similar experience. He performed a rectal exam on my daughter without any warning. Both my daughter and I were shocked and surprised. I Had to compose my self so not to scare her. she wanted to cry but held her tears and I wanted to scream but I couldn't. When it was over he quickly brought out a diagram of the human body and its major intestinal organs. I wasn't even listening to him not only was he talking to fast for me but I was still in shock of what he did. My daughter is traumatized and so am I. We will never be returning to see him. He is much to insensitive and aggressive to be working with children. I asked why he performed the exam and said he needed to see if she had anything stuck but since she probably had a bowl movement within the last 24hrs it was empty. I could have told him that she had a bowl movement right before the appointment but he never asked!! then he coldly asked if I had any questions. He seemed bothered… that I even asked so I let it go. I really felt the exam was not necessary. I don't recommend him to anyone especially children. I feel like my daughter and I need therapy for this horrible traumatic experience!

Dr. Laurance has been the doctor for my daughter for the last three years. during that time, he has been unable to give us answers to question regarding the medication he prescribes to his patient. when asked question, he becomes upset even mad that we are questioning his treatment. In the last six months, we have asked to have several exams done that may benefit my daughters health. He has refused to assist us, not only that but he has refused to talk to us. His wife, who is the manager of his office, will refuse to allow us to talk to him and told us that we need to find another doctor because we question him too much. I think it is only right that a doctor especially a pediatric doctor be open with the parents of his patient and assist them in finding a way to manage the health of their child. This he refuses to do. Good luck to any other parent that cares about helping their child and not just dosing them with pills and medication that can harm their child in the future. We had… enough and found another doctor.

Im a parent my child was seen by him for the first time and he was not gentle. A bit on the insensitive side. Not sure if we will return.

We had to wait almost an hour to see the doctor. Then he rushed through the exam. He didn't really tell us very much, except to worry us that there could be permanent damage. He ordered tests, but then didn't make an appointment for 60 days in the future. His office staff didn't put in the paperwork for one of the tests. Horribly unfriendly office staff. If you have a choice find someone else.
